I received the initial model for review courtesy of MLS, but sent it back right away due to the buzzing... Straight away I thought it was a shame and could tell that it was going to be a great amp for the price, but the noise completely ruined it.

I've had the updated version for a few months now. I believe mine was one of the first to ship. Very quiet, no hum issues whatsoever.

You are right, the amp was voiced with Senns. I can't remember if MLS said HD600 or Hd650's. I believe K701's were used as well, but this was from a conversation I had with MLS almost a year ago now...

In a nutshell, this amp is stupid good and better than it has right to be for $200. I wouldn't call it a giant killer, but it's a super-value, and if you have any av123 speakers with rosewood veneer, is a great match.

Thanks for your observations. It's good news that the humming noise seems to have been fixed.

Yes, the more I listen to it, the more certain I am that it was largely voiced with one of the Sennheiser 600 series products.

It's turning out to be a pretty good amp period. When one considers the price, it's a nice value...a VERY nice first amp for anyone.

agreed! it gets little use here... but it makes a very nice system with an Oppo 980H to burn in cables and headphones! I'm thinking about moving the setup to my bedroom so I can listen to music and read before bed.
