Cool, thanks. How would you compare them to the IE8? (which are in my ears as I type this)...

Edit: Ah, I found your thread. Nice comparison.... I may have to try them. Wickeddigital.com.au says they'll ship to the States. So there's one option.

The IE8 remain my favourite IEMs to date, but the Ortofon e-Q7 have the potential to supercede them. Their transparency and coherence is simply stunning!

Thanks, I might as well link my review here to spare fellow members the search...

Okay, I wish I hadn't seen this quick comparison, because it makes me want them all the more:

The Headphones are actually made in Japan not Denmark! As are all the Ortofon products other than turntable tonearms and cartridges. I had a look at some of the Audio Cables they make while I was buying my Headphones, and the quality is amazing!

Interesting read, thanks for the link! I would not describe their bass output as huge, IE8 and FX500 have more quantity IMO. But it's more than sufficient, very well defined and does not affect their awesome transparency.

As far as one can tell from this picture the e-Q7 cable seems to be no exception:

I looked at the Ortofon Premium SPK-X7 Speaker Cable as seen in the link, this is the best build quality on a cable I have ever seen. Makes all so called AMERICAN made cables which are made in China look like crap!

Found a pic!

You'll be surprised how many of those JAPAN made cables source materials from China as well (not referring to Ortofon specifically).
