Same, though I must admit I am a sucker for nylon and other stuff that make your cable look nicer. :-)

Interesting. I just received the Beyers and they are alot smaller than I had expected. I was expecting the cups to be around the size of the Denon D2000's, since they look pretty big in the pics, but they're quite small. I'm at work and just put them on my head for a bit and as far as I can tell, they're very comfortable. I'll know for sure when they get some good listening in tonight.

For fun, i just plugged them into my iPod Touch w/ the Headstage Arrow on Gain 3, and they seem to sound pretty good, and I'm liking the sound signature so far. Can't wait to plug them into my Little Dot amp tonight.

How do the DT880 600 Ohm systems look like?

Like this: http://www.beyerdynamic.de/shop/media/catalog/product/cache/2/image/900x/e5c3f25dbe2a3021345b55270d5894a1/9/6/963773_17.png

Or like this: http://www.beyerdynamic.de/shop/media/catalog/product/cache/2/image/900x/e5c3f25dbe2a3021345b55270d5894a1/9/5/952283_16.png

I received my DT880s from Beyerdynamic today, but the invoice says 600 Ohm DT990 systems. The systems look like in the second picture. My 250 Ohm systems looked like the ones in the first picture.

They also sound a bit weird, really bassy and not that much midrange but quite a lot treble.

It is more interesting how the backside of the driver looks like. Can you take a picture of it?

I'll have some soon. What do you need them for?

DT990 drivers are bare naked on the backside, DT880 have thin mesh smily_headphones1.gif

The really significant differences between these drivers are on the backside.

edit:

@ flipjack

The DT880s have also a plastic-ring on the backside.

What I see is a DT880 from the back, but from the front it looks like a DT990. DT880 are supposed to have a black(ish?) felt on the front.

Am I right, or am I squint?? Or am I just missing something?

It's a DT880. But it is strange that the felt in front of the driver is missing. Hmm, you should return it to Beyer and get a replacement model.

Do you have a picture of a DT990 system's back?

It might be that the weird sound is actually DT880 and I just got used to the MS1000 sound while Beyer had my DT880s. Invoice still says that I received DT990 systems. Though the invoice also says that I sent them 32 Ohm DT880s...

I will call them tomorrow to find out whats with the missing felt.
