How my nights have gone since getting the DT880:

*glance at clock*...it's 1 AM.

"Just one more song."

*glance at clock again*...it's 3 AM.

Sleep through class during the day.

Repeat.

I couldn't stay afloat if I didn't do this. (Not in regards to school but just generally, in life) biggrin.gif

Btw, I did not say anything about the graphs. But as what we hear by the ear is something different than a graph, the differences is so small it is so to say impossible to hear. But this may be different on 2 250ohm or 2 600ohm cans as there is differences in the produced units. Might be that I was "lucky" that the premium 250 and premium 600 sounded excact the same. We blindtestet over a whole saturday and was more than 1 doing the listening. Was fun though as we did belive we would think the 600 was sounding better because of head-fi.

Happy today that I got the 250ohm as it is more easy to drive when I want em hooked to my bass guitar and other sources to not require extra amping between.

Leonarfd, your remarks are typical of several posts made on this subject and tie in with comments made by Tyll Hertsen and 'DavidMaher'. It often seems that those who believe the 250 and 600 ohm versions sound the same or almost the same have made comparisons, whereas many (though by no means all) of those who claim a huge difference are often parotting received wisdom. I'm not saying there is no difference, just that it's not so significant as to warrant specifically calling this thread the 600 ohm thread, as if any other impedance should be excluded. This would have to be the silliest kind of electrical snobbery I've ever encountered.

Maybe..... how's this for snobbery ......   I find my 600 ohm T1 way superior to the 880/600 .... and I've done an A/B comparison    :)

Agree on what you say fully. Personly the whole thread should have been renamed to only dt880  appreciation thread. Had  quite fun when we blindtested as we did belive the dt600 to be superior before we did the testing, and we were so wrong. Regardless of the ohm the dt880 is perfect for the money, my nest buy will probably become Mad Dog to get a good closed headphone aswell..

No way. That thread is a barren wasteland. @chinesekiwi please rename this thread, thanks. :)

Well, I'd certainly be going back to the shop for a refund if that were not the case. It's odd though the number of people who've tried the T1 but gone back to the 880, and even 'DavidMahler" has suggested the DT880 is better balanced. Maybe you could offer a comment on that, since many DT880 owners are probably contemplating moving up to the T1.

I've read that the T1 is a bit warmer sounding, even. I would love to audition it with my Bifrost+Lyr before buying. I suppose I could Amazon audition it... send it back after 3 weeks of listening for the price of shipping. :) Then some lucky guy gets an open box/very good pair for cheap! But if the T1 doesn't do as well with electronic music, then there's no reason to upgrade. I just love the magic the DT880s have.

The only reason I ventured into the T1 was because I thoroughly enjoyed the 880/600 but even though there was bass there, I couldn't get over the feeling that overall, they were UNBALANCED ... a bit too bright and bit under bass emphasized.  I had read that the T1 addressed these very issues and, rather than stair-stepping my way up, I just went for it.  To my ears, the T1 is perfectly balanced.
