Oh believe me, I have some FLAC, I even got a Bon Iver album in 24/96 vinyl. But I just can't justify the massive increase in size for very marginal increase in quality. 320kbps sounds pretty damn good.

Oh lol missed the comment before
Its not about quality. 320kpbs vs FLAC version of the same CD is not gonna sound that much different. The point is, those almubs that were from beginning made to be hi-res, or SACD, are differently recorded, and differently mastered. For example, the difference between the CD version and SACD version of Diana Krall albums I have is quite big, it just sounds more natural, much more dynamic, soundstage is bigger, everything is more detailed, fast, immediate, but at the same time very smooth and realistic sounding. That's not because SACD is better than CD. Its because SACD album has been mastered differently. Its like comparing 3D 1080p (SACD) to 1080p (typical 24/192 hi-res) video to 720p (FLAC) 720p still looks great, but 1080p is something that is just gorgeous to watch, and 3D will blow you away by bringing a whole different dimension to movies. Same with SACD.

Yeah, vinyls used to be mastered differently because they have a lot more potential for fidelity than CDs. I'm sure SACDs are the same. But I don't buy CDs, nor would I buy SACDs. I realize they might sound even better but it's not worth the cost for me to have a few albums on SACD.

This is patently not true. Digital recordings have, by definition, the potential for greater fidelity than trying to physically reproduce an analog sound wave in plastic .... and expect it to not degrade with the initial and all subsequent playings.

Recordings on vinyl don't have the resolution of even 16-bit CDDA. And, they never will because of the limitations of the medium itself. Whether or not this is beneficial is up to the listener.

Well, consider me wrong then. But as far as I know, records are more carefully mastered and usually sound better, balanced sound-wise, than CDs. But I don't really know much about the subject so I'm not going to pretend to.
If they sound better to you, doesn't that mean they really are better? Yours opinion is the only one that matters.
I was referring to resolution only as a technicality. I think it means a CD could sound better. It certainly doesn't mean a CD will sound better. To me, that is.

I don't think that's a reliable measure anymore. Many labels use the same master with only minor tweaks for the final media encoding - so you end up with the same loudness wars mess.
Better to shop by label, than by the media.
What is a good amp for these? 200-300 range?
