Does anyone know how the DT880 32ohm SQ compare to 250ohm and 600ohm SQ?

Will my Little Dot MK VII (running in balanced mode) be able to drive these properly?

Currently enjoying these out of my pitiful laptop jack. One thing that has been standing out to me is the vocal quality. I have a lot of music that has distorted and background vocals, and of course a lot of screaming. They're intelligible and clear. Bass goes down low and isn't over emphasized. Sounds great on tracks with low bass lines. The sound isn't fatiguing and I prefer to listen to it loud.

I would like to know to since I have a MKVII+ and plan on getting the DT880/600ohm next.

Anyone here knows if there is any thick white foam behind the drivers in the DT880/600s? I always thought my DT880/250 was boomy sounding, and I changed the drivers (yet the same housing, including that white foam). I tried another DT880/600 before changing my drivers, and it was less boomy. So, I've just take the bigger part of the white foams closing the holes not on the middle but the corners of the housing, with less but maybe more controlled bass not preventing the mids to appear fully.

I wonder if there is some renditions of DT880 not having that white foams, because some say bass on the DT880 is too much, and some say there is very low bass at all. I believe its bass quantity is almost same with the DT990s with the white foams. The absence of those foams may increase the shrillness of the sound btw (I'm not sure so far). So, do all of you have that white foam closing the holes on the corners, or Beyer keeps changing the housings of the models? Btw, my DT880/250 was bought in 2007.

I've just removed the inner damping material completely at one side and listened a while. I don't have the impression that the bass is affected from that, only the mids loose part of their warmth.

What I feel is that those parts make the mids more recessed as well as making the sound less sharp. I'm no sure, but it seems like the sound now comes from a more distant place. Whoever listens to my DT880s thought that the bass is really strong, I wonder if Beyer changed the size or shape of those materials after some time.

Yes, things become more Grado-ish without. But things get too cold and harsh IMO.

Wow, surprising to hear these sound good out of a laptop jack. Could it be the case that the amping requirements are overstated?

One question for DT880. Do leather on headband from PRO version fit on non pro version of DT880?
And i need just to take this metal out and leave holes empty just like in photo?

Mine was cabled by a one-eyed vet and broke. At the doctors now, expected return date of... next week - and balanced for any sort of source!
