NOTE: The clamping factor will obviously differ from person to person, but I'm surprised to find little mention of it, as it is the sole reason I'd never think twice about...
When I listened to the sound for the 1st time, I was hit by it. I was punched by the not-punchy-bass. I was hoping it would offer much better bass response than SE315.. equals to Klipsch Image...

HiFiMAN HE400
By now I think most of us are familiar with the history behind the HiFiMAN HE-series headphones. What started with a single model has grown into a full...
I was in Japan and was looking at headphones to buy. I had a cheap budget of about 4000 yen or circa $40. I bought this headphone because it was on sale for $30 and was very good looking. It was...
I will try to remember to bring both of my old sony cd players but they only have optical out. I am actually looking for a new transport, may just order a marantz 5001 so I have digital and newer transport for my dacs, so one of these may be available.

I guess I'll take you up on the potential offer as Alai seems to have gotten his problem taken care of.
Does anyone coming have some DIY knowledge and feel like replacing the xlr outs on my beta 22 with neutrik combo xlr+1/4 outs? I would of course pay for parts cost plus a bit more for your time. I have no idea about DIY but I can't imagine messing with a few wires would take more than a few minutes.
edit: also this would be nice to let everybody listen to the beta 22 with SE headphones, not just balanced ones
I wouldn't mind borrowing a transport with digital out if anybody has one to spare for the meet. If not I guess I'll buy a DVD player or something since my computer is too big to lug over there.
Is it too late for anyone to be able to get on the list to attend this. I am a fresh to the game newbie with no real experience in terms of hi fi audio equipment and would love to come and listen to see what i am really missing out on and to get a point of reference so to speak. I live in san diego which is a little drive so i don't know if i will definitely be able to come but if i were able to is there a possibility of me coming through and if so could i bring my donation with me or should i send it to you now. If it isn't possible its and totally understandable but it doesn't hurt to try.
If you have room, and can't fill the space, I'm happy to bring my rig, just let me know - it's in my signature.
I'll also be bringing my laptop with some good FLAC files.
I wish I could come, but I am in the process of upgrading all my gear so I pretty much only have ESW9's, and I am pretty busy as it is. This looks like a lot of fun, maybe I will make the next mega meet.
