I haven't even heard it yet, and it's already one of my favorite albums of the year. Can't. Friggin'. Wait.

as mentioned a PC can play DVD-A

BTW, someone over at AA got a Panny DVD-A7 for $20, so some shopping around may be useful. Also you might be able to pick up an older Oppo from those guys upgrading to the BDP

Nice video you found there, with some very cool sounding stuff within. Steven also looks different that I imagined. I've been a PT fan for a couple of years now, and I've never seen a picture of him or the group. At least I now know who's hand to shake if I ever stumble across them.

On a side note, I now have 3 of the 5 PT DVD-As; Stupid Dream, Lightbulb Sun, and In Absentia. It took longer than I thought to get everything ripped 24/48 and tagged, but it's done. I've only had a chance to listen to In Absentia so far, but I'm very impressed. I know this album like the back of my hand, and the DVD-A is a very noticeable improvement even after the resampling and channel compression. You also get some of those surround sound effects despite it all, some of which sound pretty cool. Thanks again for showing me how to rip them.

No one commented which headphones are they wearing yet!

^They look sorta like DT150s, but I dunno.

I hope it's mastered better than Nil Recurring was...

What's wrong with Nil Recurring?

Their best production is still In Absentia. (By Paul Northfield I think)

I loved the songs, don't get me wrong, but the SQ was decent at best, which is sad because In Abentia sounded so amazing and earlier albums like Signify and Lightbulb Sun were also pretty darn good.

Fear of a Blank Planet sounded really good (CD).

In some high-action parts (e.g. the intese drum part in Way Out of Here) it can get a little iffy. And all-around is just lacked the cripness and detail of In Absentia and the earlier work.

In quiter parts it was good, but in some parts, like the climax of Sleep Together, it just... I dunno.

The 5.1 mix of FOABP is better than the stereo mix.

Oh? I'll have to find that then. FOABP is one of my favourite albums by any band, ever, so you can bet I won't rest until I've tried that, lol.
