Porcupine Tree - "The Incident"

Porcupine Tree are happy to announce the forthcoming release of their tenth studio album "The Incident". The record is set to be released via Roadrunner Records worldwide on 21st September, as a double CD.

The centre-piece is the title track, which takes up the whole of the first disc. The 55-minute work is described as “a slightly surreal song cycle about beginnings and endings and the sense that ‘after this, things will never be the same again’.”

The self-produced album is completed by four standalone compositions that developed out of band writing sessions last December - Flicker, Bonnie The Cat, Black Dahlia, and Remember Me Lover feature on a separate EP length disc to stress their independence from the song cycle.

Video footage of the band in the studio working on The Incident, as well as audio previews, will be available online soon. The band will tour extensively to promote the album from mid September onwards

Cool a new album, a 55-minute track? crazy or awesome can't decide. This is their first release via Roadrunner right?

Ahhhh, awesome news. Looks like almost every prog band is coming up with a new album this year, including some projects I thought died (Transatlantic no less). New stuff by PT goes straight to preorder though

As soon as the vinyl is available for order you can bet that I'll be in line!

I second the hope for a DVD-A release. All of them are stellar.

I was not the biggest fan of FOABP, but I liked it nevertheless. Having said this though, Porcupine Tree is a very safe bet that each release will be great. I hope the title track has a lot going on and is varied enough to be "attention-keeping". Moonsorrow and other bands proved that it can be done, so I have high expectations of a very long Porcupine Tree song.

Two discs!!! Can't wait!!!

Looked on their site but couldn't find a preorder link. Is this even available for preorder yet? It doesn't seem to be available at burningshed.com.

I'm sure it will be up on Burning Shed sometime in the future.
