OK1 vs PK1.... which is closer to Grado?

Hey,

I'm deciding upon getting either OK1 or PK1s, I don't like IEMs, and I've read that Yuins are the best earbuds, so I came down to these two models.

I really like Grado's accurate in your face sound, so would like a model that resembles Grado's sound signature.
I don't like a boomy bass, I like a more controlled, tight bass.
I LOVE clarity.
I love treble.
I LOVE Classic rock and 80s pop

Which one to get?

I have owned both and I can tell you it is probably the PK1 your looking for out of these two.

PK1+amp

I've owned the PK1 in the past, and I own the OK1 now. I think the PK1 was warmer but the OK1 is clearer with more defined, tight bass. The PK1 had great bass when properly amped, but it was a little too bass-heavy for my taste.

Thanks for the replies guys!

ckhirnigs113, What do you mean by warmer? what does warmer mean?

I guess, I might go with OK1 then, if it's clearer and I'm not a big bass fan. I like Grado like tight bass.

ok1 is closer to grado than pk1, pk1 is warm character (focus more on low frequency which make the high frecuency not too high). ok1 is bright similar to grado character. i dont know why many people like pk1 than ok1, i never try ok1 (will come in the next 3 days), but i prefer pk1 than ok2, just personal taste

CyberGhost, but don't go thinking PK1 is a Grado in earbud form factor. I never thought PK1 resembled the upfront Grado signature sound.

OK1 is closer to Grado sound signature. There is more treble emphasis versus PK1, and the bass is tighter with less quantity than PK1.

CyberGhost, how will you use the buds? I ask because if they are to be used in planes or buses you will hear a lot of the ouside noised. If you need isolation buds are not the answer.

I have owned both the PK1 and OK1 at the same time, it took me a long time comparing them side by side to decide which sounded better to me. I kept the OK1.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation guys! I'll get the OK1!

Just to confirm, there currently aren't any better earbuds(I'm specifically looking for earbuds, not IEMs) on the market are there?

Sorry Miguel, missed your question, I use headphones at home, I don't listen to music outside generally, and if I need it, I do have CX95s.

But I generally don't like isolated headphones, they feel "vacuumed".
