But either way, it depends on the cable material. The use of different cable materials like say 7n OFC can flavour the sound differently from stock resulting in better/worse sound to the user in question and hence preferable but there are lots of us who let placebo influence sound quality to point of exaggerating it.

Besides using a better grade cable ( high purity silver for eg. ) let the high sensitivity of the drivers generally pick up the differences easily.

Quite right!

BTW are you talking about digital, power, signal or speaker cables? :D

Thanks

I got it used from the US. It will be rare to come across one now.

I am hunting for a pair of the legendary DT48E by Beyerdynamic.

Congrats for your new purchase! Awaiting reviews..

And since you mentioned Jaben, did they have the AK240 on demo? And if I'm right, Mike of Headfonia is also at Jaben. He writes decent gear reviews IMO. And our own Pro Audio Home in Mumbai has the AK product line up for sale. Eagerly awaiting a demo/ audition when on a trip there; provided they have one for demo that is!

Mike is not at Jaben, he has his own stores. not related to Jaben

I just can't believe this!! The Tpeos altone 200 triple hybrid selling for $145.00!!!! Only months ago were triple hybrids(2 BA +1 DD) selling for $300 and above from companies like Dunu and T-peos themselves and now they have halved the price. I remember paying an out of this world price for my Shure SE-535 triple BA design a long while back but now a hybrid at one third its price!! I now use a Rockit R-50 (TWFK) reshelled but just taken aback that T-peos is giving a much more complicated design with a TWFK and an Dynamic driver at a price lesser than some other companies TWFK offerings!!

Hi Folks,

After a recent need arose for a good budget IEM and doing a little bit of online reading, I've ordered the highly regarded Vsonic VSD1S through lendmeurears.com.

So thought I'd also ask you good people to chip in with your thoughts on your current/ previously used/ suggested favorite pairs of budget IEMs, also bearing in mind availability here in India.

Do type in your suggestions.

Cheers

Dude,

I mentioned 'budget' IEM :)

Although Flipkart recently had it for around 15000, and Snapdeal had it for 12,999; neat discount!

But still doesn't count as budget IMHO. Especially since it's their flagship universal fit IEM. Wonder if anyone here has gotten a pair.

But anyway my idea of budget would be something like the UE600, or the Sony XBA H1, etc. The interesting thing is that I haven't found any IEM's in this price range (readily available in India, between 3000-6000 INR) which can be considered anywhere near neutral-ish. Had a brief listen to my friend's Signature Acoustics Elements C-12, and that one had a slight muddiness and slightly boomy bass IMO, but wasn't bad overall. Haven't heard any of the Brainwavz models that are on the Pro Audio Home website though. I guess there aren't that many in this price range readily available here in the first place.

That is sad indeed. Say, isn't it under one year warranty? But I guess if one has to bear the shipping costs it isn't worth it.

Exactly... Otherwise, its the best I have heard after Re-262, looking at the price/performance

Well I'm hoping it lasts me for at least 6 months or so before I can convince myself (and the wife!) that an upgrade is due. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
