I'm from mumbai too. Currently, I have a Grado SR225i which I asked my mama to get for me when he came from the US.
The customs tax on these things are outrageous.

Sorry! Missed this for a long time. Add to that - the tube rolling you got me into. Should I still thank you?

Hi i'm from bangalore, india
I just ordered a ms1i from usa from my aunt, but the thing is my sis will be taking it, so it got me thinking if i should go for another ms1 or a denon d1001 or an hd 25-1?? i mean where can i find good deals on the net in usa and it shuld be reliable, and please quote the lowest prices plz..have a firewall in my college and cant open shopping sites..proxies dont work either..

I wanted to know what diff. i can expect in the sound b/w these three headphones?
i'll be driving it off a MBP and an ipod touch 32gb, if budget allows i'll also get a fiio e5,
my last headphones were a pair of sen px100 and bose on ear headphones...and i was happy with the sens...looking to go a notch higher this time..

i'm into floyd, steely dan, bob dylan, metallica, yngwie, michael angelo, dio, jefferson airplane, doors, who, hendrix...basically classic rock and heavy metal..
and i'm no basshead..
comfort needed...coz i'll be wearing it while i lay down, isolation, leakage not specifically a need but would be a plus point...and durability very imp!!!

I'm tight on the budget so is the hd 25-1 really worth the xtra 65$ over the ms1??

I know this a wrong place to ask..but then too

Ah, you like rock and metal, so I think grados would be best for you.
Get either the SR 225i (200$) or if your budget is less, get the SR 125 ir MS1s.
From what I've heard, the SR225is are a huge improvement over the MS1s, so if you can shell out a bit more cash, it will be totally worth it.

Hi

I am an Indian living in UK for the last 1 year. I belong to Chennai. I have tried on many headphone from Senn (HD650, HD600), grado (RS1, RS2, HF2, GS1000), shure (SRH840, E4c, SE530) and AKG (601,701) and yet to settle on any one headphone. nice to see many indians in this forum. Hope the community grows big.

Another Indian here. Been in the US for over a year and got my hands on few items. I left all my CD's back in India and hence did not get a good source but planning to get something soon if I decide to stay here for longer. At the least a decent Laptop and DAC. It is good to see that there are few of us here. It is a good start. I have a few friends who got at the least a PX100 after talking to me.

Namaste Bhai Logo

Me from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Currently staying at Noida, U.P. Uptill an year ago i had very little interest in portables & was constrained to only home rigs; not many though. My first portable was ipod 5.5g 30gb & its still working. My first hi end iems (in my pov 5 years ago) were sony mdr ex71 & they are also still working although recabled. And now that i've got my first job(just 7 months ago........and next to nill savings) & that i spend most of my time at the office, i've started spending on daps & headphones. My sources include:

Shuffle 2g 1gb
Sansa clip v2 2gb
Sony A726
Touch3g
Apple classic 30gb/5.5g.........whatever we call it

IEMS
Sony ex71
ex85 modded
ex082 modded
sennheiser cx300ii
shure se110;dead.......this was the 2nd replacement..........shure quality
Next month i'll be getting either yuin pk3 or senn. hd555 along with fiio e5....at least they are available in INDIA.
I've been searching for grado sr60/80 & koss porta pro in Delhi but people make dumb faces as soon as you start asking something other than usual sony/philips. Does anyone have any idea about availability of good iems in north india or should i settle down to pk3/hd555?

Thanks for the response. & can i get hippo vb or monster turbine gold pro anywhere in delhi/chandigarh or maybe if i could order it from somewhere in India...........actually it would be better if i buy them personally because the market is flooded with fakes. Also is the klipsch image X10 available in India, any direct klipsch stores?

Grado is very expensive outside the US, it is almost double in Canada and UK. If you want Grado, your best bet in a relative coming from the US or another headfier who's coming or going there. I got my Grado SR225i from a relative come from there.

RS1i, D7000 added to the growing list of headphones. Need to sell off some stuff now.
