That's all fine and dandy but if your source is not good, the amplified version will be terrible. The window to your music is the source (which may or may not include the DAC). If DAC is of secondary importance, that's ok but make sure your music files are very good.

I can still use my m-stage hpa-2 dac for the moment. I'm not going to ignore the dac completely. I'm only considering focusing on getting a better dac after upgrading my amp.

Will add my findings and photos here after the meet. Also I enjoyed the photos from Mumbai meet, thanks for posting, hope you guys have more such events.  I should be back in Bangalore one year from now, looking forward for a meet either in BLR or Chennai after that.

I recommend you take a usa (or home country of whichever amp you decide) trip to buy amp rather than paying 40-50 k in customs

That's a good idea, but if i'm taking the trip only to buy the gears and if the customs catch me on my way back, then the duty charges along with my round flight travel charges which will be much higher than 50k :regular_smile :

keep it without packing, claim its old and worth $200, if it happens.

they haven't caught me yet so I don't know exactly how they deal in such cases, but woo audio will certainly pass as a beautiful looking night lamp.

That's quite possible in older days, but now they can just Google the product name and get the actual price within seconds. But your night lamp idea is interesting :)

If there is one, then we can ask his assistance in importing some of our favorite gears without paying huge duties

That's true sometimes. They nailed me on the new Audez'e LCD-XC. But most of the other times, they accepted the invoice pricing on the label.

They caught me a few times before but for other non audio related items and every time they just looked for the invoice. But some companies are not too comfortable with declaring a lower value.

Hello all, sorry to interrupt this very interesting conversation 😊, but does anyone have a Sansa Clip+, Zip or Fuze to sell? My trusty Cowon iaudio10 16GB us full and I want to wait for a while before splurging on the next big DAP, so for that wait period I see no better option on the cheap, with memory expansion. Thanks in advance! Budget is 3000 inr for now.

Check out amazon.in for some refurbished sansa clips. I think I saw them a few days before right around your budget.
Edit: Got the link for you smily_headphones1.gif

You're welcome. Nice price for 8gb. Is it rockboxed already? If the seller is from Delhi, I guess you can get it much faster than amazon considering their listed delivery time. Good luck with your purchase.
