Really confused over DAP.... I don't even know how much SQ it'll offer over my current setup. Is there any place in Mumbai where I can try Fiio X3?

+1
The old one's firmware is still pretty buggy although things have improved since the release of FW3.0

Even the hardware wise new x3 wipes floor with older one,at least on paper. Not to mention to play native dsd /dsf files without conversion to pcm which even x5 cannot do.

Whoa whoa, why so much hate for the old X3 folks? It isn't that bad as you're all making it out to be, I must say.

I haven't had a single freeze or bug encounter till now, although sound-wise I admit it isn't the ultimate portable experience one can have. But for a stand alone DAP around 12-14k INR, it does deserve a little more appreciation fellas.

Edit: you can listen to the HD 650 and 800 from the Zana Deux and the AKG 7xx through the Geek Out. You can even listen to the Audez'e LCD X through the Project Ember which is s very good amp IMO.

Will definitely be on my agenda to pay you a visit when I come next to Chennai. Dunno when it'll happen, probably will club it with my next home trip to Kerala.

Thanks again

Thanks for the comparisons Mr G, will try to get hold of my friend's M-100 to get an idea of the V-Moda sound.

thanks & cheers

Not exactly with the X3 II in tow. With better sound and DAC.
