Hello all, this is slightly off topic, but I thought I'll share it anyway. So yours truly was stopped today at the Delhi metro security check, and promptly asked to show the contents of my beloved audio bag, and then informed by the well mannered Sardar policeman, (in English) "This is what we would generally categorize as an Improvised Explosive Device. Sorry for the trouble. Have a good day." , on seeing the audio player+amplifier combination attached together with rubber bands and wires. Guess its a rough world for audio enthusiasts, eh! Thankfully I didn't have to play music and convince the gentleman further!

Hey consider yourself lucky. You may have been asked to leave it security to collect later . Having said that, the sight of a MP3 player bundled together with a portable DAC and Amp can be an unsettling sight for a security guard !

I once had a serious problem with the Airport security in Kerala because of my portable setup. It took nearly 30 minutes to convince them that i'm not carrying anything harmful. luckily i went early that day.

Just out of curiosity, i tried my HE-500 with X3. Despite being under-powered, HE-500 surprisingly sounded amazing with some songs in my collection.

Dear Jerrick85, I'm currently using a Cowon iaudio10 as portable source, and would like to know whether you would rate the X3 as a clear step up in terms of Sound Quality alone, mainly detail and clarity.

Any help in this regard appreciated! Oh and nice to meet a fellow Keralite. smily_headphones1.gif

Hi ShreyasMax, Didn't know much about iaudio 10, but X3 is definitely a step up from all the portable players I've used before(<250$). X3 is little bit on warm side but clarity and details are awesome for it's price which also has pretty powerful amp for a portable and can be used as DAC. My only complaint is it's annoying UI which i doubt will improve much because of harware limitation. I think you better check with the X3 impression thread and sure you'll get more detailed answer. Also don't forget to check out the upcoming X5.

Okay, and what players have you used previously? Maybe that gives me some base info for comparison.

@kothganesh, how much do you prefer your HE-500 to the LCD 3 and XC? Is the highs are too recessed in audeze comparing 500? I'm considering LCD X for my next purchase.

Not many, eh..
That's a good enough comparison for me I think, leaving the sansa fuze I've listened to the others. So I guess I'll save up and wait for a bit.
Thanks again for the info, cheers!

It's better to wait for X5 release and make your final decision. Some stores may give impressive promo price when they release X5 smily_headphones1.gif

Jagan:

How's that Vali working out for you ? I bought one on a whim last week and just got it yesterday. It works very very well with my HE 500. Got to test it on my Audez'e cans.
