Is it possible to use iPhone 3g LOD and an external mic simultaneously?

So that I use my LOD->amp to drive the headphones and listen to music or to my interlocutor, and at the same time can talk into an external mic plugged in the HP out.

If yes, where can I find such a mic (preferably with this call/music button)?
