E5 owners, What headphones do u personally use it with?

I'm wondering if using E5 with a high-end IEM isn't a good combination, but I hate spending money on amps so I'm not sure where I'm going with this. I'm curious what headphones E5 owners use with just to get a general idea.

If there is not a particular reason why you need to use amp (i.e. using better sounding line-out, or a demanding headphone), just skip it. Though my E5 has seen much less action after I got T4, the IEM/earbud I pair w/ amp are RE0, RE1, s-JAYS, q-JAYS, and PK1

I use ety hf5. Not necessarily high end, but not your ibuds, either.

Now, my impressions are based on the fact I am using etymonics, and dealing with their sound signature. I think it gives a fuller based to them (slightly and w/o bass boost), and keeps their definition and whatnot. With bass boost, you get a little smearing in the midrange to high bass, but not a lot. And you get an approaching normal bass response.

I change the bass boost depending on the song, and sometimes even depending on the passage, if I am aware of the music enough to remember.

I use my E5 with the Phonak PFE and feel it adds some much needed warmth to the phones. I have also just received a pair of the Yuin OK1, and they seem to sound pretty good with the E5.

With ER-4P. Bass boost ON, sounds great.

ER-4Ps too, but I don't like bass boost because it boosts more towards midbass than the far more succulent 20-40Hz bass. Overall I think it helps them sound less anaemic and makes it easier to make out more subtle, quieter recorded details. They could use some more juice though, running them through the Compass they're considerably more forward.

With every phone in my sig line. It is rubber-banded to my Zune, so I use it every time I use my Zune.

I use the bass boost usually for older rock music that has a flatter production eq.

I don't use my E-5 much but when I first got it it was good to use with my "Bright IEM's like the UESF5Pro, Soundmagic PL30's, and Senn CX500's. Darker IEM's like my Hearyourself customs and my new JVC FX500's don't really show any benefit with the E-5. But most IEM's don't really need an amp.

I use it with my Senn HD555s and Creative EP-630s. I use the bass boost for the former, and although the latter doesn't need/deserve an amp, it gives a greater dynamic range to my player: it allows it to play much quieter (for use at night) and louder (for use with ****ty speakers/my fm transmitter). All in all, it was worth the $15.

I use mine between a Sansa Fuze and a pair of Yuin PK-1. Sounds nice..

X2. In fact, I sold both of my E5s. If I use an amp (T4 or MiniboxE+), it's mainly with the W3s and the line out on my Touch.

I use the E5 on my desktop until I can find a proper amp. USB out of the puter > X-Fi XMod > E5 > Audio Technica ATH-AD700.

Made an improvement, definately helped with the bass boost.
