Have any one tried the Sony X1060 L/O or P/O?

I've just recieved my X1060 and i'm looking for an amp(probably Corda XXS) but unfortunetely i can't find a line out dock for the sony walkman. How would it sound if i use the headphone jack to connect to the amp? can it be as good as line out? cuz people said X5L has better performance when using phone out than line out(correct me if there's any mistake)
Thanks bro

I don't think anybody has worked out a line out on the x1k series players.

Generally, headphone outs are inferior to line out, but there are many people (take a look at the Post your Portable Rig page) that amp headphone out signals and are happy with it.

Edit:

the guy you responded to in the x1000 thread mentioned an adapter, and this is it: http://suntac.jp/products/sony/ws12l.html. To answer your question to him, according to what little I can understand from that page (don't read japanese), the 3.5mm jack on that adapter will work fine. There's a few people (google search) that have mentioned using one of those and hacking off the USB piece. I can't seem to find anybody that's done it though. That adapter does support the x1k series though.

Another edit:

Here's one of those on ebay that will ship from tokyo worldwide for USD$22.99 + $13 shipping to US/$16 to Europe. If you'd like to be the guinea pig, I'm sure your fellow x1000 owners would be appreciative.

I'd noticed that quite a number of people are happy with headphone out but i'm just wondering is it a waste to connect to amp although my amp isn't a VERY expensive one(Corda XXS)? Cuz if we use headphone out, the bad things, i mean the background noise will be amplified. The worst thing is that i do not have a chance to try it on my own, i'm now waiting for my new IEM to be shipped and couldn't find a place that allows me to try out the corda XXS
P.s. the sony X1k series is kinda quite comparing to my previous ipod nano 2nd gen

I am unable to solve this through Google…

Haw anybody noticed any supplier that provides a line out doc for the X1000 series of Sony walkmans?

This is becoming a great selling device, so I would think somebody should provide us with a solution…

The BCR-NWU5 works great. Use the adaptor supplied with your X.

Thanx man!

…it would be nice if we were able to find a Line Out Adapter (LOD) like the ones made for the ipods to connect to a portable amplifier. Any tips on this?

There's a tiniest bit of hiss with no music playing. (Not discernible at all with music playing.) My Pico doesn't amplify this hiss at all. In fact, I don't even notice the hiss when I amp my player. Then again, I don't look for it either.

Yesterday, I tried amping the X's HP out with iBasso D10. To my ears, no significant improvements. But the good thing is, there was almost no background noise (noise floor).

TQ.

I worked around on WM-Port line-out for a while using with A726 and it must be compatible to any WM-Port walkman including X1000.

My DIY line-out cable built from Sony's DCC-NWC1 car charger adapter that has a line-out capable, eBay price is around$30-$40.

How to make it? Just follow the instruction:

1. Bought DCC-NWC1 and cut the cable at the length you desire.
2. Keep WM-Port side and throw away cigarette connector side.
3. There will be 5 wire in the cable shell, 2-big for DC charger and 3-small for line-out signal (bingo!!!)
4. Use your technician skill to solder the 3-small wire with the 3.5mm stereo jack, I recommend Neutrik as same as mine. Sorry for no detail here because I forgot and unable to open my 3.5mm connector because it filled it with resin.

I suggest not to break the WM-Port cover. Just use the cable that come with the port because the soldering contact in the port connector is very small and very very easy to crack especially with the big signal wires. I mention this because I lost 2 of them for my trial version.

What you get is more tight and bright sonic comparing to headphone output. You cannot expect this level of sonic with any iPod. I also have iPod touch and it far far away from my A726.

One of the reasons that the iPod fraternity spend so much time and money on LODs is that the line-out from most iPods is substantially better than the headphone out for the purpose of amping the signal. Until I see reports from several people saying that this is the case with the X, I will continue to use the HP out.

I'm surprised no one has linked the obvious:
