Khali... K701 is not there on your profile

And are you using your Apogee with it? No DAC for your iMac?

Gear mentioned in this thread:

I believe I made a similar thread about this. I'll post the link if anyone is interested...

Troymadison, you are absolutely right. See my last post, I wrote how rotating the headband backward towards the sloping edge of the head improves sound and comfort. The drivers are aimed differently and the 3D
foam of variable density also plays a role.

Haven't updated it since I got them. The Apogee Duet is a DAC with a headphone amp in it. I still need a better amp but the DAC in it has been compared by many here and is supposed to be pretty good. So if the 701's get even better with a more powerful desktop amp I will be even more pleased.

Yes. If you're going to listen as in the head on the left position, the sound will be more flat, which is not a bad thing, but you won't have as much bass and the highs and upper mids can be too much sometimes. The head on the right position, which was suggested, is more fun and you'll get a bigger sound stage and better bass, low mid and some air movement from the sub. Now, the point is, in this position, if the pads start to touch the upper part of your ear, it will start to cut into the high end and that's not a good thing. I mean, maybe if you want to go to sleep, it's fine, but I like to keep the high fresh. What I do, is 80% of the left position then I'll get the most sound from my 702.
