Does your HD800 do this? - Page 7

563 - wow what a story, very glad the whole thing worked out so well! And commendable re: SennUSA, they could have passed the butt to the vendor but they didn't!! I personally have experienced something similar donkey years ago with negative outcome. Really good to hear excellent service in action, refreshing change!

SennUSA told me, when I spoke to them, that they had only received 19 returns because of the spring clank issue.

I have the spring squeak as well. It doesn't bother me because it doesn't ever happen when the phones are on my head. Even at low volumes, or when headbanging in an attempt to make the spring creak.

At least the 800s aren't like the HD650s, which rip a small tuft of hair off of my scalp each time I try to take them off. Even that didn't bother me though.

The spring noise never happens while I'm listening either. Although, I think at some point I'll send it in. I'll have to find a time when I won't miss having them for a week or so. But for now I guess I'll keep enjoying tme.

wsilvio,

I'm in the same boat. It's not worth living without them for 1-2 weeks in order to fix the problem. Gotta love the doughnut driver sound.... mmm

For those interested, I just received my new (!) HD800s, serial number 01947. Senn USA came through as promised! Now I get to burn these in on my (rather little publicized) Cary Xciter tube amp (with the Cary Xciter DAC) - This unit worked wonderfully with my original (used?) HD800s and works great with my (man, I'm embarassed to reveal how self-indulgent I've been lately) Grado PS1000s as well....

...And, the missing adaptor arrived today too

Cheers!

#326 is fixed. They can do it and send it back to you in about 3 business days.
