I guess all the rumour, was just for stopping people on buying the Asus HD..

Anyone got any news, still?

I was thinking to upgrade my home theatre PC soundcard, to this one, it should be like the Asus, but it has the xFi processor,

Any experience with nVidia Ion, is it out yet?

I am excited to hear what this card will be capable of. Considering it will be Auzentechs new flagship model. Auzentech has never released any card until they felt it was ready.

Personally I find Auzen "Meh" compare to Asus cards. I had a prelude and I thought it was a good card until... I heard electronic static noise. Unless they can fix that problem otherwise I'd never get another Auzen again.

AnandTech: Auzentech HomeTheater HD Preview: Bitstreaming True HD/DTS-HD MA

Highly recommended, written by Anand Lal Shimpi himself..

Yep a few people have these cards for review. Seems like it was worth the wait as I figured it would be.

W7 will allow bitstream audio over HDMI natively, rendering these cards pointless(wait a bit and ffdshow will allow it for free)...and their protected audio path only works w/ one major BD player(PDVD, great )

they waited too long to release these cards..and ask ridiculous amounts for them.

asking Anand for an audio card review would be like asking my next door neighbour whether I should buy an HD650 or a K701...Anand is good at testing PC hardware, let him do that.

Well, I still find his writing great, maybe he`s not too detailed on the Audio stuff, which is good,
his articles are like novels and still review hardware

Who is your neighbour, man?

@Sonci, the card sounds pretty good from what I have heard.

Yeah, it should be, however I dont see audio quality such a big concern when watching a movie, dont really concentrate,
still if you have to buy a multichannel card, better buy this, or not?

when watching a movie, less than 5% of your brain is dedicated to audio...so yeah, better put that money in a better TV/projector than in an overpriced worthless soundcard.

You don't notice high quality sound on your movies?

Many new movies are avialable with DolbyTrueHD and DTS-MA so, if your going to have a big widescreen for your movies why allow your audio to be downsampled to older standards etc?

I guess it is a personal choice though. I want my movies to sound as good as they can.

...Are you trying to convince us or yourself?

and, again, you can transcode to FLAC and then LPCM over HDMI w/ any ATi soundcard...or wait for W7 and ffdshow supporting bitstream over HDMI *for free*.

these cards will have a short-*ss life...manufacturers should better cash in on PAP asap.

anyway, Reclock won't work on bitstream...and watching a movie w/o Reclock is pointless...FLAC FTW

PS: oh, I see a "professional" reviewer came to tell you how good these cards actually are...I'll let you discuss between big boys now
