Hey Craig, I understand you're busy and can't respond immediately to PM's and email's, this is just a friendly reminder that you have some PM's and email's from me. Thanks!

You will not have a bad experience. We have made many changes!!

Thanks!!

Craig

Hi Craig,

not having a bad experience means actually responding to your customers questions. I gave you a fairly substantial sum of money and would expect, as a courtesy, for you to respond to my emails. You haven't :-(

This isn't looking good...

I don't want to bother you, but I really couldn't reach the custom service even you didn't reply my emails.

Hi all,

yesterday I received the following from Craig

A beautifully made 8 conductor TWAG V3 with 2.5mm TRRS balanced connection for my AK240 and Shure SE846's.

Craig was very good at communicating and once made the delivery was very fast.

More importantly, so far the cable sounds really amazing.

Thanks Craig, very pleased

What do you mean when you say "the cable sounds really amazing"? From my understanding a cable is supposed to be neutral?

You should get an honorary hike in your total post count for that one.

OK, let me rephrase that. The sound I hear through my SE46's is better when I use the cable.

Exactly "what" part of the sound is better?

For two days now, I have been listening to my AK240 with SE846's via the Whiplash Audio TWAG V3 balanced cable. I don't quite know how to describe what it sounds like because I haven't really heard anything like this from a portable system before.

Its easier to tell you what I don't hear. I don't hear the amp! Amazingly, even though they are nowhere near full size, I don't hear the IEM's. All I hear is music in my head - its simply astounding.

The way the music is handled is so subtle, delicate and transparent - it's pretty spooky. I think this might be what they call synergy. The sound stage is large, the resolution is amazing (I really am hearing things I have never noticed before) and the bass is large but very well controlled.

I think there is something even more special in the balanced output of the AK240 than the already great single ended side. I don't think I can ever go back to single ended, and I find it hard to imagine how any of these up and coming DAP's can better this - but shall wait to see.

However, when I think how much the setup cost, it ought to be something special :-)

Good description - my observations with improved cables has been an improvement in transparency, probably due to increased micro-detail.  Occasionally a bad cable will make a headphone sound darker or more veiled than it should be, i.e. less transparent.  Once, the high impedance and capacitance of the stock HFI-700 cable from Ultrasone actually made the headphone sound sibilant, but I've never encountered that before then (even Skylab observed this).

But in general the overall timbre and tone of the headphone isn't changed by a cable.  I cringe when people describe the changes with their cable, which seem to be as vast as with using some EQ.

I sent Craig a E mail earlier this morning, he responded very promptley. I inquired about the REFERENCE Mini - Mini , for my AK-240, and Cypher labs Duet. We e mailed back and forth , 5-6 times, every time, no more then a 30 minute wait. I ended up ordering, the mini. Couldn't be happier with the customer service. As a matter of fact, I'm still waiting several days, to even hear back from several other , very well know cable makers.

Emailed back and forth with Craig late last night myself, maybe 6 emails or so (last one was after 2am EST) . so far he has been very responsive to me. I'm going to order Twac V3, hybrid for my RSA Intruder. Just sent one last question this morning as I fell asleep last night. Craig answered all of my emails, even though it was very late. So far, great experience. Hopefully that continues.
