Craig, I sent you the detachable cable from my ACS custom iem's last October/November to see if you can convert it to balanced. To date I have had a couple of emails from you saying you would look into it but nothing concrete; could you please let me know if this is going to be possible or not so that I don't keep looking for a response from you.

Has anybody had any contact with Craig recently? I paid for a cable on 13 March and received acknowledgement from him but since then nothing. I have asked if he could let me know when he expects to ship but no response.

 

It is my first dealing with Whiplash Audio so just wondering if this is normal?

Yes this is normal. I paid for my cable and did not receive any reply or email and the cable just arrive at my doorstep a few weeks after ordering. I dont receive any notification on shipping either

I know there is a wide range of experiences with Whiplash. For me, considering they are a small 'boutique' business and trying to keep up with demand, I have to say they treated me right.

The cables I purchased were of very good, professional build quality and were exactly as described.

 

Eventually everything has been sorted out to my satisfaction.

 

Would I do business with Whiplash again? The answer is YES.

That is fine but how long does it take to reply to an email? Customer Service is an important part of running any business.

Seems to range from an hour to never. Craig's customer service is pitifully bad except in the all-too-infrequent instances when he surfaces to blame his email system and then set things right for those customers who haven't walked away in disgust. See the latter portion of this thread for multiple examples.

My recommendation to folks who haven't yet placed an order is to go with Moon Audio or any of the other reputable higher-end custom cable makers. Don't play Russian roulette with Craig. It's just not worth it.

I do have good news, I have a new employee starting Monday.

Listen, I do know I have opportunities that need to be addressed. I will say this, I will try my best and provide the best sound of hand made from the ground up products. Now, dies that make things perfect? No. But I have has so many difficulties with employees since my expectations are high. Trust me I know we have issues. We are and will try our best. I'm addition, we are working 7 days a week right now. Not necessarily with emails, but with production.

Please bare with us. It's worth it.

By the way, no excuses about emails issues. So many go to spam and I had an email server problem. We are smaller than the other high end manufacturers. I don't have pre made cables that can ship off the shelves. I hear your complaints and I will fix them!!!

That said I think you will find no customers being ripped off or unhappy with their purchased product in their dealings with Whiplash. It is not easy running a small operation, life does seem to happen even when one is working 24-7. I know having tried running a small business with a very few employees at one time in my life.

In my experience the Whiplash cables I've got have proven themselves worth the wait.
