cost of repairing second hand Image X10?

I bought a pair of those babies two month ago on Ebay second hand and absolutely love the sound coming out of them. I knew about the tear problem so took extra care but they have just started to do it.
Is it worth sending them to Klipsch UK for repair, or can I just use some heat shrinking tape. I worry using very hot air so close to the armatures.

From my experience, Klipsch will not repair them. Warranty will cover replacement only and you have to give them original receipt to be covered. Some shrink tape and a blow dryer should help temporarily.
