Amp Issue Involving -=Germania=- - Page 4

Well, i am not young anymore, but i am "young member" here !

I like this whole community, and lemme say, i am willing to help !

What money we talk about, whts the amp we are talking about ?

Germania or who ever lie to guy, and he gets short ... probably cuz he is way too nice ...
I am willing to donate - parts, soldering, laser engraving, money - what ever to "short member" get his amp ...

Thats my word ..

That's a kind offer there Komi, but I think the builder should really be the one to make amends here. The offers of help are nice from you all, but she's running a business, this is not someone doing this as a favor, it's a for profit venture.

I don't recall anyone offering to help Singlepower out, must have missed that :|

Like others have said, she's most likely soldering away like fury (and carefully!) right now. I would be.

Not sure that is a fair comparison....

That would get her off the hook either way!
Just kidding.
I'm sure she'll find a way to resolve this, but a thread like this won't make it any easier.

Agreed. There's no shortage of people here who will rush to judgment without having all the facts.

That said, the one person who really should be responding to this thread (or at least to the OP in private) has yet to do so...

Technically, yes.

Difficult to explain to a customer, for example, that you've botched the paint job AGAIN and will have to have a fourth go at it when it stops raining in a few days.

Yes, that would be difficult, but I think most people would rather have that communicated to them than no communication at all. We all understand that sh_t happens and that a custom amp takes time to build and test. I think what's frustrating for the OP is the lack of communication as I'm sure would be frustrating for most of us.

Based on my past dealings with Stacy, I have no doubt that she will make this right. Of course, I could be proven wrong, but I certainly hope not.

I feel the offers of 'help' are in the very best spirit of Head-Fi; however, when one who is a 'member of the trade' takes money (assumed) in return for goods, there is an implied and acknowledged contract. Of course things can get delayed, a person gets busy, puts things on the back burner, etc., but refusing to acknowledge and communicate a possible problem does not speak well for her business acumen.

She has been logged-in; she has been in the Members' Lounge, and most certainly has already seen this thread. As Biggie relates she has dropped communication with him in spite of his efforts to contact her by her feedback and through pm's.

Personally I don't think she needs 'help' per se, but she does need to acknowledge and explain, not to us, but to the person she has seemingly avoided. This would be the only help both she and Biggie need to resolve this. The longer she continues to avoid her apparent responsibility in this, the more convoluted and misinterpreted her reputation may become.

Hmm...I must say I share the opinion of several others on this thread and I am a bit surprised as well, was really surprised with the thread title itself. I must also add that I have seen her posts on the forums recently so I don't quite see why there is no communication with the buyer or on this thread for that matter.

I for one have zero tolerance on delays, I remember I hounded Justin from Headamp when he delayed my Gilmore Lite, but I was always nice about it, and he did reply to my emails eventually. But I can totally see where the OP is coming from and its very frustrating especially taking the timeline into consideration. Its one thing to love headfi and the hobby so much that you get into DIY and start making stuff for the other members, but once you go the business route, its business, and you have to play by the rules.

Here's hoping that everything gets resolved and theres no bad taste left once it is.

I really like Germania - I have met her at several meets, including one at my house and one at hers, and she attended a tailgate I held at a Northwestern game (she's a current student, and I am an (old!) alumni. So I have every personal reason to cut her slack.

But as someone with more than 20 years of business experience, I will say that communication is of the utmost importance, and not communicating is inexcusable, short of a serious health issue (which seems unlikely since she's been posting here). Stuff happens, and most people (including clearly the OP) are pretty reasonable - but there has to be honest and open communication. It's better to be completely transparent about what's going on than not say anything.

Since I like Germania as a person, I sincerely hope that she will come clean to Big_PJ, and that they will work something out. But I also think I am a reasonable person to dispense advice to her, and as such, Germania, I implore you to reply to him, and at a minimum, post in this thread that you have done so (I don't think details beyond that are anyone else's business as long as progress is being made resolving the issue).

I concur - do what you need to do to make things right. Considering you are scheduled to do a cable building DIY workshop at a meet on July 11th, maybe its best to cancel that engagement and focus on making it right with biggie smalls. You have been on headfi plenty of times since receiving PM
s from biggie yet it appears you have not bothered to respond. I hope that you two can work things out.
