FS: North Star m192 mkII

It's time to sell my North Star m192 mk2. This is the successor to the mk1, which means it is balanced and has non-defeatable upsampling. As I understand it, the mk2 does not have a discrete output, but I have no idea what, if any, difference that makes with respect to the mk1. Bottom line, this is a nice, clean, musical DAC with a truly excellent sound stage for the price point.

The DAC is in great condition physically and sonically, with one notable exception: the hinge to the door of the optical in jack broke off. The doors to these things are necessary to keep most optical cables in place, so most opticals will not fully lock in. I have been using my optical cables successfully by just plugging them into the unit. However, the cable occasionally comes loose and needs to be plugged back in. Coax works just fine. And I think the jack is probably a relatively easy fix for the more technically savvy.

Will include a nothing special power cord. Price is $900.00 (includes paypal and shipping). CONUS only please.

Pics when I have a chance.

Having looked at both, the MK2 has a "better" DAC than the MK1. Good luck with the sale, I love my NorthStar MK1, wouldn't sell this unbalanced DAC unless something REALLY serious was replacing it.

Sold! Which makes me happy. This is a good DAC.
