Actually, IEM's would work best for this.

Agreed. When you buy a CD, there should be two inside, one for speakers and one for headphones.

Speaking of which I know we have a GIGANTIC thread here that lists binaural records/sound bits but its WAY too big and not very helpful.

I think Pearl Jam did one, but does anyone know if there are any other binaural records out there? I think there a some symphonic ones.

BTW: Here's a 6.16Mb Mp3 of the recording, I don't think it gets much better then that.

Milwaukee symphony orchestra I think have some binaural recordings for classical music.

more found here http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f9/leg...-links-223165/...

If headphone would be more dominant then speakers all music would be recorded like that

Thanks a lot!

I have recently built a high-end car audio system, including programming my own DSP (brag brag ), and in cars, you have a similar setup as with headphones - speakers face each other and a fully panned sound (without reverberation) gets a distinct mono feel to it, just like with headphones.

So I think actually binaural recordings would sound better in a car too. In fact, I will try out the virtual barbershop in my car as well.

This sounds absolutely chilling on my IEMs.
