Tube Clock Anyone? - Page 2

check out this place: Welcome to the Frontpage

I'm sure you all have already found it but they have a lot of different options and many less than the $275 clock on the other site.

This piqued my interest when I saw it on Engadget...

Went for a look on eBay. UK'ers, an eBayer here is selling pre-built kits of various sizes, designs and features (some connect to pc via serial for displaying temperatures, stats etc!) for aroun £50-60. Just need casing up.

His website is also quite interesting.

Also, the circuit boards of finished clocks look pretty complex. Is there anyone here that has built one that can comment on the degree of difficulty of the build? Would a beginner DIYer be able to pull one off?
I used a board from that guy in germany. It came with a preprogrammed controller.

The build was not difficult at all. The only somewhat annoying thing was that the parts list referred to parts available in germany and didn't list american equivalents for parts not available in the US, like the diode on the output of the HV supply. I was able to figure it out, but a rank beginner may need some help. Good thing is they have forums for that now.
