I'm not being able to transfer my music to my D2 using Ubuntu (Jaunty Jackalope with all updates). I get an error about not being able to create a folder whenever I try to transfer stuff. It also won't let me delete the old stuff on the player. I know this isn't a computer forum, but does anyone have an idea of what the problem may be?

I know people bash on Bose because of they're over priced and I agree. I believe these retail for about $150 or so and I paid $85 for these due to employee discount at where I work. With that...

I bought these headphones as an upgrade from my BD DT-770 Pro 80Ohm. The are better in all areas, except that the right can can't handle bass. As soon as there are low bass it just becomes a...

everything about these headphones is flawless. Everything is balanced, and perfect. Any of the reviews that didn't like them most likely have a fake pair, or, hate life. The only thing I could...

I paid 25 bucks for this phone, which makes it stupidly good value. Best Bang for the buck phone. Quite comfy so you can use it for quite a long time. Sounds is quite awesome, not 200$ awesome...

Are you syncing with a program(Banshee/Rhythmbox/Amarok/etc), or just Drag+drop? Is the Cowon a MTP or a MSC device?

I tried to Drag and Drop, and it didn't work. Rhythmbox didn't recognize the player at this time, though it had recognized it before. How do I know if it's MTP or MSC?

Go to Settings then System and check the USB Connection type.
MSC will allow drag and drop, MTP will allow synching.

Additional: I use the D2 with Jaunty, every day - no issues at all. I would also suggest checking which mode is being used.
Just an FYI - MSC turns the player into a Mass Storage device. and allows for simple drag and drop. MTP is required for syncing with subscription services like Rhapsody, but I'm assuming that you aren't using it for things like that.

Ok, since the D2 can be put into MSC mode, and Im guessing that you want to use Rhythmbox to sync it, you can have the best of both worlds. Both Rhythmbox and Banshee use a hidden file in the player called .is_audio_player. Just setup the file from the instructions provided here, and you can sync your player with the app, while still being able to drag-drop videos/photos/etc.

I can't seem to find the option to change the mode. I looked through Rhythmbox and couldn't find it, and I can't find it in the Ubuntu menus either. I'm pretty new to Linux, so you may need to guide me...
Oh, it's on the player... OK then...

Figured it out. And with FLAC, now it's gapless. Today is a good day.

Hmmm, now all of the artists' name start with "OTR="
Any idea how to fix this, or what may have done it? Not that annoying, but a little.

The D2/D2+ doesn't do gapless (another annoyance).
