Thanks for keeping it all straight. So now I can buy my cards with confidence. Assume a 16GB will work as well. Are you using folders yet? I have way too many folders with 200+ tracks on them in my music folder, so I may have to do some reorganizing. 100 hours for both the phones and the DAP/amp. Can't wait to starting burning them in.

Oh, I will try all my files too. I would hate to have to rerip, but there are 20-30 CDs I would like to add as .wav (get their own microSD card).

Hey, why don't we mass email him and egg him on RockBox? If the player sounds as good as claimed and supported RockBox, it's like dream coming true
Rockbox would certainly make the player a bit more flexible with features... think I'm going to wait for that one, as I like to have the option to use an EQ to tweak problematic areas with my 'phones. For instance, the FX500's can sound a little 'hot', and on the Sony X it's nice to be able to tick it down one notch in the treble to minimize that.

Actually, he told me that the Golden Hall will mostly focus on the mid and high, not the bass.

Ah, okay, thanks for clarifying....

Jack Fu cannot create a rockbox version ( i think) I think he will need to go to the programmers of rockbox and beg them haha. Also, i guess it doesnt have MINI SD and only has MICRO SDHC? please clarify owners thanks!

LOL well anyway talking about the buds... can an owner test them out on different MP3 players? I want to know if they were built only for the AMP3 as it would be sad if they didnt sound good on other mp3 players! Also, would converting apple lossless to wav make teh while bigger? if yes how much bigger? thanks

For default earbud, I think the reason it sounds better than PK1, that may be it suits player' s sound signature well.

According to the specs the compatible formats are MP3, WMA, WAV. I doubt it will play WMA lossless, but when I get mine I will try it.

FLAC files are about 70% of the size of WAV files, but that can vary depending upon the quality level they are encoded at. Not sure about Apple lossless, but probably similar.

Other than size, the other negative of WAV is there is no tag info.

A thought I had was if it really sounds good as an amp, maybe I can just use the line out of my Fuze and get all the playback benefits from that with the SQ from the AMP3. Of course when I don't want just 1 small box to carry around.

Already been clarified. The player takes the MicroSD HC cards. One slot. Right now, largest MicroSD HC cards are 16GB, and they cost around $50-$70, depending on the class rating. From what I read, the Class 6 cards are supposed to be faster for transfers, but some have posted that if you are just going to load the cards once and then add smaller incremental tracks/albums, Class 2 is fine. I see Amazon has a Sandisk Class 2 card for $48, so I might pick that one up. I have a 2GB card sitting around, so I am going use that one first, after I fill up the player itself.

I've been trying to use 16 GB SDHC microSD card with it and it mostly did not work. It takes a long time for the player to analyze it and most of the time it would not recognize it. It seemed to recognize it couple of times, but only several of the folders. Can't tell if its my card or a player. I am using A-data card.
Damn, I have a 16GB A-Data card coming. visia, is this the one you have?
I think so, but without adaptors. Can't say if its the card though. I am having trouble with the player also not recognizing 8Gb card that is used in my cellphone.
Craig said it did play FLAC but not "supported." Can anyone test this?
I wonder if the memory issues are your player? Could your player be defective? Has anyone got an 8GB card to work? If yours is defective (which would really suck), let us know how the repair/exchange goes.

And if this thing plays FLAC, that would be absolutely awesome. Please, owners, let us know.
