Amp3 - Page 9

Can't wait to load it up (or at least move a couple of albums over) and listen. Hope my expectations aren't too high, but I have a feeling this is going to be fun. I may end up selling most of my DAPs, if this thing is the real deal. It's hard to go back as I have found out with phones. I am selling most of my phones because I am happy with the W3s. Hard to listen to the others now.

I can confirm Craig's opinion about the supplied buds , this player is designed to be used with the supplied buds so they do sound better than others including the PK1s which I have and my very expensive customs from uniquemelody, unfortunately!!

How dos the sound quality compare to other DAPs with other headphones? I was planning on using this with my IE8, will it be a step up with the IE8, or a wash vs. say my Fuze -> LOD -> E5?

@ulsanman ... That is very interesting. I can't wait to listen. You sounded pretty happy though with the PK1s too. I hope the Westones work with the Amp3. I will only use the buds around the house. Are you using wav files, or did you say 192-320?

:O they sound better than PK1s. Maybe they found the supplier of the PK1s and got some better ones made? This would make the mp3 player a great deal as it has great SQ and earphones sounding as good as $150! I am definitely buying one

Sounds like a no brainer if true audiophile SQ (not slick touchscreens and fancy features) is what you seek, right? Clunky interface and jagged corners don't bother me, if this sounds as the few who own it say it sounds. Finally, a DAP/amp that rises above the pack? We'll find out.

I tried wav files but I have many 320s so I'm mostly using them, I have some of lesser quality too and I'm having to delete them all the player does not play them well at all, in comparison!!

Wonder why they din't think of having donut pads like the Yuin, they sound much better that way, another day another discovery!!
is the AMP3 really revealing? My music is mostly 256-320 kpbs mp3 files will they be fine? Also, if I have lossless files and I convert them to WAV will the file size be increased a lot? Please confirm this: MicroSD SDHC?!

thanks
according to the site: Card Compatibility: Mini SD, Micro SD... so if it is MicroSD how would Mini SD's fit?!?!? this is completely confusing different information..
MicroSD -> MiniSD converter?
I believe it is microSD and one owner says his 8GB MicroSDHC card works. Forget the website, and be guided by what the two owners on this thread say, since they have the Amp3 in their possession. I am a little concerned that 192 files won't sound good (have those from Napster), but even so, I have plenty of CDs I can re-rip and plenty of 256-320 files to load up on cards.

Much better? Glad I hung on to some of my donut pads.
yes much better and the site is now up again and it also confirms what I had said microsdhc, I'm using an 8gb microsdhc, try your files before reripping!! Let the amp and the phones have 100hrs before deciding!!

I've emailed Jack for more information regarding the "Golden Hall." Great communication. He said that the Golden Hall should be launched about 6 months later and that he will seriously consider Gapless playback and Rockbox

Hey, why don't we mass email him and egg him on RockBox? If the player sounds as good as claimed and supported RockBox, it's like dream coming true
