Quality impressions made with the correct materials (not the soft pink foam) are key.

I got mine done from Jamie as well. I've gone through atleast 10 different audiologists all over Vancouver and no one did it as well as Jamie. Jesus, he was a performer himself who had to use CIEMs as well and he knows our pain of getting bad impressions done by incompetent technicians. So he goes through extra care and trouble to get impressions done right. Kudos to Jamie Larsen!

And hello fellow Vancouverite! :) We must get together sometime at Headphonebar~

Listening to the JH13 tonight.. going through some of the my favorite ambient DnB, hip hop, and psych rock albums and mixes.. I had many of these types of moments:

A couple of times, my wife walked by and snapped her fingers in front of my face.. LOL.  No fancy schmancy DACs & amps, either: just the Galaxy S3 to the JH13.. pure. effing. bliss, I tell ya.

This very well could be the the first phone I find no (subjective) flaws with.  It's just so frighteningly agreeable with what I like from a tuning standpoint.. and the technical ability never ceases to amaze me... even after using it daily for the past two plus months.  What's really surprising is that despite being very transparent and detailed.. it doesn't murder poorly recorded stuff.. not in the slightest.  How?  Only JH knows, maybe.  What I know is that .. I love this phone.

Funny thing is that you don't think about how good they are. They just sound 'right'. They're not forcing anything while telling you so much.

I've described them the same way. Right. That's how I've felt about my current speakers (NHT Xd) and I wanted the same thing in headphones. I think I've found it.

Now if I can just get them to look right and fit right.

Though I'll never think the experience the same as speakers (preferred), I can't think of thing I would alter other than the cable which isn't bad.

In top and bottom, yes.

So I assume that you will get a fully padded one and keep the both pieces separate while storing them.

The case isn't padded on the sides (inside).  When I'm travelling and I know the earphones might bump around a lot I'll choose something different.

True. I just set the shells between the coiled cable but I suppose you could always stick them in a velvet pouch too or glue some padding around the sides. I toss mine in a book bag I use at work.

First pair of customs! Extremely pleased by the sound. But somehow feels that my 535s is quite on par, anyone feels that way too?
