Westone doesn't use them for everything and when I called them a month or so ago they do not use the scanning for the ESX3's.

Mine are on transit and will arrive on monday. I cant wait to plug them to my Lisa III with Imod and Vcap Dock rig!

I got a perfect fit with my UE11 first time. Actually I had some discomfort on the right ear for over a month since the fit was tight. But then the pain disappeared and after nearly two years the fit is perfect, I can chew gum, eat, laugh without losing the seal. I did the same for my JH13 impressions (semi open jaw) so hopefully the fit will be good.

no they dont use it for ES3X. I think the heat sensitive tip makes it impossible. as it needs to be poured as a two part mix and set in the mold. I expect the JH13 uses stereo lithography or another similar process.

bolardito: congrats man, i'm sooo jealous :green with envy: will be using dueland copper foil caps in my new dock for DIYMOD rig. got some during the june sale at PCX.
another rig I cant wait to try with these. these will be great for R&D with the detail they should produce

Got my EL8201 as buffers for the D10 with AD744 output bypassed class A opamps, and you definitely need to try this with your JH13Pro when they arrive. The sound is very good with absolutely no hiss with my ES3X. I'd love to have the blackgate mods, but I am not technically capable of doing it myself.

Westone can use stereolithography:

Quote:
FIT (available in clear only)

Our newest earpiece manufacturing process, using laser scanning technology and stereolithography equipment, results in highly precise and accurate acrylic earpieces that are not possible using any other manufacturing method. (FIT acrylic is available in clear only.)

Flex Canal

A body-temperature reactive material available for acrylic earpieces.
However, they only make this process available for hearing aids. When I asked PH why it wasn't available for the ES3X, he told me this method more often led to refits. Of course, I asked why they use it for hearing aids, then, and why on their website they present it as "highly precise and accurate," but... no answer yet.

My JH-13's arrived today. The fit is far better then my FreQShows. The seal is excellent. I can open my mouth, yawn, etc. without a problem unlike my FreQSows. These go in deeper than my FreQShows so there is a bit of mild pain on insertion but I do not know if this is a fit issue or just a matter of getting used to them going in deeper.

The sq is excellent. It is better than I remembered from CanJam. I loved the sq then but I couldn't get the best seal with the universals and expected the customs to even better. I've used it straight out of my iPhone and my beta22. The are excellent either way. The detail is amazing. As I'm sure I said earlier in this thread, I never went to CJ expecting to order a pair of $1000 custom IEM's but I can say now that I am happy I did. I'm sitting in my music room looking at close to $15,000 in gear and I'm perfectly happy listening to my iPhone and JH-13.

Hey guys I am reporting back from my day of listening. Let me start with WOW. I can simply not find anything to attack on the headphones. Highs just extend higher then any iem I have heard to date. I am not sure if this is due to the double drivers or the new generation. May be both or mainly one or the other, but either way combined it leads to wicked nice treble with no sibilance at all. The mids are luscious and involving! The main example of this is when I listened to "heaven" by Los Lonely Boys the guitar just jumps out and I have never heard such an accurate reproduction of guitar outside of speakers, as well as the vocals. They are like the singer is right in the room for you and you can hear every little piece of emotion and passion in the vocals. Obviously breaths among other minute details can be heard. Bass is detailed and extends very low. When listening to "Hotel California" (live edition from the hell freezes over album) for the first time at the beginning when the percussionist was hitting two different drums (as you can see if you ever watch the concert) I can hear the distinct different timbre given by each one which was never able to be expressed in any universal can I have used. Sound stage is just sheerly incredible. Everything is in the right place and instrument separation is apparent and easy to admire. That being said I feel that the jh-13 pro's have a very flat and accurate sound signature. They seem to accurately reproduce any piece the way it was originally recorded making me think of UE's coined term (Music the way it was meant to be heard). Hope you guys enjoy your pro's! In my opinion really something to behold.

I recall saying the same thing in my ES3X review, so I am looking forward to these!

I would also like to say that a amp helps but they are driven great straight out of any portable source.

That's what I find so intriguing about the rapid development of portable technology. I've got a feeling that the HiFiMan will be another evolution.
