Yeah that is about right

Also does anyone know where I can get another ear wax loop? I dropped mine and I cannot find it.

I believe Westone sells them on their website. I know they have all the other accessories.

Mine arrived today, it is my daughter's birthday so have had little time to listen. They seem to fit good, the right is slightly looser than the left which seems to be a common trend for some reason. But I can get a good seal on both sides and no discomfort yet.

As for how they sound... Wow! The low bass boost is noticeable but makes these sound much more like a full range loudspeaker system (as in my big rig which has two 7' subwoofer towers) than IEMs or headphones. Any imperfections on the recording are definitely conveyed through these which is a testament to their sonic accuracy.

More later but definitely no buyer's remorse for these!

Dramatic difference from the Westone 3 which have a mid bass hump but drop off in the low bass. I don't think I can listen to them any more. Compared to the SE530 they are much, much clearer with full treble and bass extension, with an even better midrange.

Any imperfections on the recording are definitely conveyed through the 13's which is a testament to their sonic accuracy. I never really noticed the difference between 256-320 kbps compressed files versus lossless with the SE530 but certainly can with these. They are definitely revealing of limitations in the source.

I've only listened with the Meier Corda Symphony so far, will try them with the iPhone 3GS later. More to follow but definitely no buyer's remorse for these!

woohoo~ another happy customer!

Who was the first unhappy customer?
Yeah, I honestly haven't read of a single person who is unhappy with the JH13. Even those who have an immense amount of audio experience seem to have nothing but good things to say about it. For those who are skeptical, that alone should be reason enough to rule out FOTM.

Well I stayed up late tonight to do some more listening. OMG these are f'ing awesome! My advice to those on the fence - just buy them, you won't be sorry.

Playlist tonight included Snatam Kaur, Hayley Westenra, Greg Laswell, Blue October all ripped with Apple Lossless. I know all their voices very well and the JH13 gets them just right. Instruments sound real. Bass fundamentals are strong without bloat in the midbass. No need for the usual audiophile descriptives, these simply get music right.

Okay it's not a fair comparison given differences in price and universal vs custom fit, but the JH13 really embarrass the Westone 3. Their tonal balance sounds totally whack in comparison, and I don't think I can listen to them any more. Hopefully my wife will like them! The Shure SE530 hold up somewhat better, but are lacking significantly at both frequency extremes and also fall short on dynamics and transparency. I'll keep them for the gym though, they err mainly in ommission, and do a respectible job with vocals.

My current setup is USB digital out from iTunes running on laptop (Dell XPS Studio 16) directly into Meier Corda Symphony.2 with the JH13 cabled plugged into the zero ohm impedance output using an adapter. The low gain setting and logarithmic attenuator allow a nice usable volume range even with the high sensitivity and there is no hiss. Maybe the perfect DAC/amp for IEM use with a PC source... particularly since I got it new from a USA dealer for just over $1,000.

Unlike my other IEMs and full size headphones (Shure SRH840) I prefer the Meier crossfeed disabled with the JH13. Imaging is stunningly good, and I never thought I'd say that about an IEM. There must be retrieval of spacial cues at the frequency extremes that are absent with other IEMs I've used. They also have more realistic soundstaging than my full size headphones (currently Shure SRH840) and my recollection of the Grado HP2 that I sold a few years ago. I find these custom IEMs much more comfortable than any full size phone. They are also more comfortable than the universals I have, used with olives and double flange tips.

I've only used the JH13 briefly with the iPhone 3gs. It seems quite respectable and totally adequate for on-the-go listening. But I notice significant improvement in transparency and dynamics with the Sympony DAC/amp, thus they do scale with amplification. But source seems paramount, the information sacrified with lossy compression is readily audible. I will be re-ripping even my 320kbps files as lossless. My 32GB 3gs just lost a lot of capacity, unfortunately! The DAC in the Symphony seems up to task, but tomorrow I'll try my (fully Aberdeen modified) Logitech Transporter with the Symphony to see how it compares. The Transporter is currently the digital source for my big rig, feeding a quad amp TacT system with digital crossovers and room correction. I haven't been using it, but its built-in DAC is supposed to be quite good stock, and this one has been upgraded substantially.

Well done, JH Audio!

If u track back a few pages in this thread, he did briefly state the timeline. Considering how my 'in the lab' status was on a similar date with his, I'm still wondering why there haven't been any updates on mine yet.

Ladies and Gents, according to the JHA website, their JH11 model is now $850 - equal to the ES3X's price. That's $149 less than its former price, and $51 more than the JH10x3 for an extra bass driver.

I'm curious, has anyone emailed JHA to inquiry about the difference in SQ between their JH13 and JH10x3, or JH11? Obviously, there's no other way we can find out without owning both.

I believe that this is a limited time offer, though it has been going on for 2 weeks or more already. There is a review on the JH-11 vs the UE-11, and its said to sound like an upgraded UE-11.

The discount is probably because most ppl who want the a taste of top customs will obviously get JH13, getting JH11 is kinda "not so worth it", only 100 dollars cheaper.
