Thats interesting. Twice I've been to different audiologists and both charged me $45 for both ears, could this have something to do different needs for different ears?

Can anybody recommend an audiologist in the Washington D.C. or Baltimore area?

This time I went to:
Professional Hearing Aid Services
2141 K St NW, Washington, DC
(202) 785-8704 ‎
prohearingaid.com

through the sonus website. The guy seemed pretty good and fairly techy

More drivers = less distortion from the speaker/headphone/IEM, but if its well designed it'd let more garbage through from a bad source/amp/media (its a higher resolution device). If I'm misunderstanding you I apologize...

From what Mr. Harvey told me on the phone regarding the JH13: dual drivers reduce harmonic distortion as well as being more efficient (equals more detail).

Crossovers are, of course, the devil. They might well be a necessary evil, however. The JH13 sounds more "live" to me in every way, which is the quality I most enjoy in music reproduction, and it's why I use fullrange single driver loudspeakers and either a low-power single gain stage speaker amp or a SET amp.

If you want natural, distortion-free sound in an IEM, nothing I've ever heard is better than the JH13, including any and every ety.

Got another question maybe you guys might have the answer to -

The blacklight colors...is it UV reactive paint that is on the outside of the shells or does the UV reactive material get mixed in with the hard acrylic (intergral inside the shell itself). If it's painted on, I'd be concerned about it wearing of over time and also how it would effect one's skin (some people have sensitive skin eh?).

Thoughts?

Using multiple drivers reduces the load to half on each driver in the frequency range...in speaker applications, this has some cons...not sure how it would relate to an IEM where the distance between each driver is so small.

Crossovers induce phase issues and have extra components for the signal to run through....however, in something this small, I would have doubts about the latter (no large caps or anything).

In a few years, if IEMs grow in popularity, I think you'll see a lot of new designs with possibly even better crossovers and much better driver/armatures. I have no idea what JH's electrical experience is, but everything can always be improved upon.

Anyways...back to your regularly scheduled program.

Well I sent them a file made in photoshop showing the color I wanted. You could just send the link to my picture. Or tell them that you want the same color as I.
