A couple of observations now that I have owned my pair for nearly a month, and actually got to listen to them a bit.

Note that the only listening I have managed to do so far is via my iPhone, so the source quality is what it is, but it is what I bought the Pro for, really.

First observation: they are great ! yhaehah.

Once I got used to putting them in my ears, I really started to enjoy the sound (I am still working on getting them out smoothly ahah).

As importantly, the comfort is remarkable - one can't really enjoy good/excellent sound if those ears are in pain. That comfort I am sure could be improved with the quality of the impressions.

Second observation: to some extent, the sound "quality" depends upon the goodness of the fit. I say "to SOME extent" because in my case I feel I have a pretty good fit to begin with anyway.

For example, if I push down a tiny bit using my finger on the solid cable part that goes over my ears, I can hear a significant change in lower frequencies.

I don't feel that I miss out on such frequencies much at all, however I do wonder whether I am. Should be fairly easy to tell, but have not had a chance to test this carefully. The point is: the fit is KEY, for comfort and sound quality.

I am totally satisfied because my fit is good and I love the sound. I can't help wondering though, could it be better with a new set of impressions ?

For the UM3X, yes, but... not for the ES3X. I asked P0wderH0und in a thread the reason behind that discrepancy, and he said he'd inquire and get back to us, but he never did, and didn't answer my PM on the subject a few weeks later.

Does anyone know where (if I remember correctly) where to find the "correct" and "incorrect" pictures of the JH-13s inserted? Want to use them as a reference to make sure I am inserting mine correctly. I swear I saw these the other day on this forum!

I've tried searching all over head-fi to no avail

Another question:

Has anyone used Null Audio ENYO series headphone cable for these? If so, have you noticed any improvement?

I noticed mine that i used on my triple.fi pros fit the JH-13s. Haven't had the chance to properly listen to it but seems to work!

Hey guys, I'm sure this has been asked in this thread already but this thread is 314 pages long so you'll have to forgive me for asking again

Would I get much out of these without a headphone amp? Right now I'm using Shure E500s connected straight to the ipod (lossless source). I would want to do the same with these as I don't want to have to lug an amp/dac with me.

As these are only iems, you will have sufficient power to drive these with that method.

The question is how much quality will you get?

IMO to run these without an amp contradicts why you got them!

That's exactly what I was thinking...Problem is I don't have a portable dac/amp so I'd have to add another couple of hundred dollars to the already painful price

I just wanted to get the opinion of people who are already using them, whether they notice a huge difference amped versus straight to the source.

Different iPods have different sound quality I hear. I believe the new iPhone is especially good in that department. And a particular model iPod, but I forgot which one.
