Strange. My cables are like when I got them, fine and they have received much, much use.

The cable appears to the be same one used by Microsonics in their universal series. I love how quiet it is, but it isn't as good as other custom manufacturer's cables. I did make note of that in my review of the JH13Pro which I will be porting to headfi, but I should sleep first.

How long refit usually takes?

do you need refit? Of course it depends on where you are and how busy the company is, but I hear that JHA are down to only one or two weeks turnaround if you are in the states. For us overseas... haha!

Yes, I did sent it back last Friday using EMS and they received it on Monday but did not heard back from them yet. I get a loose seal/fit on right ear, I really missed it already. I have heard refit takes one to two days only, I guess they are busy with Rocky Mountain Audio Fest now.

most of my emails etc take a bit of time to receive response - i mean like... some time. whereabouts do you live? EMS should have it there in a few days only.

I am nearing purchase time and I'd appreciate your opinions before choking my wallet - Is the JM13 PRO worth the tripple cost compared to a Westone UM3X?

I know it's subjective and personal, but what do you think? I'll be using a D10 / iriver optical to drive them.

I have not had the oportunity to listen to either of them, and I do not see a chance to do so before purchase. All input is appreciated!

For me, absolutely. No question.

I would order them sooner than later if you want them right away as they may get hit with a lot of orders as the big electronics show coming up, which understandably could slow turn around. The 13's are very much worth the investment IMHO.

Adding to that, I ordered mine this week and Jaime quoted a 1 week turnaround FWIW. Not sure how this relates to their typical turnaround time.

That's damn fast.
Mine was ~2 weeks.

My main concern in purchasing JH13..

1. Resale value… well since its custom, I’m assuming you can only sell it about about 30-40% from original purchasing price.

2. Living outside US. If someohow the fit is not right, it’ll be troublesome to have them refit…way way longer turn around time.

3. Durability… I often dropped my UM3X on my desk from about 20-25cm (8-10inch) height and on very rare occasions dropped mine to the floor at 1m (3ft) height. How durable is JH13 in this situation to withstand that kinda drop?

4. I still don’t know how much better is JH13 compared with UM3X. Worth 3X its asking price?... Most if not all owners of JH13 said its worth the money…. But would you do it if you have to start all over again??...but then I asked myself often…is UM3X worth 5x the price of my 2yr old Sennheiser IEM?, UM3X is like 30-40% better but definitely not 5x the price.

5. I’ve got a very very good seal on my UM3X with triple flange modded to biflange. I can chew, open my mouth as wide as I can and the seal is unchanged. Most of the times I have to make an effort to take them off my ears. I think my UM3X is comfortable to wear, its not to the point where I didn’t even know I’m using IEM, maybe I need to take them off every 4 hours or so. How much better is JH13 in my situation?....

Same here. Jaime emailed me today to say my impressions arrived today (Wednesday) and that they would ship next week. So, pretty close to or less than a week turnaround. Not sure if art work takes longer. (None for me.)
