So even if I could scrounge together the funds to purchase the JH13, I'm not sure I could ever pull the trigger, because if you didn't wind up liking the sound for whatever reason, there's no selling them here. how do you all get around that? esspecially because you can't actually hear what they sound like because the universal fit version is a bit off.

That is literally $1.1K down the drain.

For me, I read a lot of reviews and then tried universal demo. This wouldn't tell you how exactly they will sound but will give you an idea what kind of sound signature they have. Seems like they are very neutral and fast without sacrificing bass, if you think you will like that, then you have to pull the trigger. Of course there is uncertainty but that is also beauty of custom IEMs I think, because you will never know unless you buy it and try them for yourself.

Go for black. I have both black and clear cables. Clear ones go green quickly. The Black one probably turns green too, but you won't see it. So it's an aesthetic issue. But another issue is that most clear cables are made of a PVC that deteriorates faster and gets tacky after a few years.

eagle or eagles - didn't they return your ue10s? or is it more like eagle and pigeon , in which case the proper amp might just be the predator .
what color did you get them in? did you go for the chartreuse to play off your tomahawk . how do they sound out of the zen amp? we want impressions!

I doubt you wouldn't like the sound.. the fit is the only thing that could be off and they'll do a refit for free for you until you're happy with them.

And they can be silver painted as well.

I got Champagne translucent with a musical staff with a G-clef and some notes as the artwork. Adam did a nice job, although I wish it was a little bigger and more obvious.

I am Lucky to have the chance to hear the SM3,SM4 and Iqube.
I also listen some new cable such as orange, legend,Polar light,Polar light plus and so on.

My equipment is kenwood A7.

The Jh 13 pro on the A7 will lead cold tune and noise.
However when I use the Legend cable on JH 13 , I Found the sound just like the Cm 7 ti but there is a detail.

When I use the Sm3 on A7, there is no noise and amplified the detail and sound.

Put When I use the Sm4 on A7, The noise is back and amplifier with valume.

Maybe Sm3+ A7 + JH 13 will be the best choice for me.

But.......

PS: I also lend the cable of jh 13 to other people.
They think the cable of Jh 13 will improve the ES3,UE11 and Tri 10.

Regarding SQ, I've had several | wow > stop > re-listen to the track | moments. Though the first track I played was orchestral, I quickly moved on to tracks I was curious about: Icky Thump, Five to One, Waiting for the Sun, Enter the Sandman, Yesterday, Oye Como Va. Visceral impact is amazing. Percussion instruments sound clear, tight, deep. Strings growl and shine.

I will enjoy the JH|13 Pros for a good long while. Thanks to everyone here who has shared their experience and recommendations.

Of course, kudos to JHA for the product and ingenuity.

They look good but still have a translucent look to me, as you can see the drivers in them.
