Apologies for the intrusion...just bugs me every time I read that godawful phrase, lol.
Out.

**Back on topic now**

Are the JH|13's worth $300 more than a pair of ES3X?
My comments of SQ are only specific to the "other" (take note pfillion!) IEM. HPA is working on a three-way flagship review, which may help you in your quest. Reviewing this "epic" thread, and the "other" one, may help you form an opinion on the value proposition.

You don't need to be sarcastic, there's a thread about the JH13 vs the ES3X here.

I am aware of that. But I will take your ES3X opinions (I have read many in the ES3X thread) into consideration but I am not able to come to a proper conclusion till someone who has both gives us a direct comparison.

Hey, no disrespect intended at Jerry at all. After all, he's the guy responsible for my most-adored universal IEM.

Lousy slogan or no, I'm still very interested in his new products (wallet n wife permitting).

(Hope you 13-Pro guys have a sense of humour though....sometimes does feel a little born-again in here )

Reminds me of one classic line from a classic episode from the one and only Fawlty Towers: "Don't mention the..." :-) <---- smiley

Anyway between ES3X and JH13 is really about what you prefer. I have to say that the mids bump is really not my cup of tea, though many people who listen to a lot of female vocals will love it. The ones who love the forward mids of ES3X might end up loving it more than they ever will with the JH13.

There were many instances where when people tried to use their own music to judge between several demo versions of custom earphones, or others' custom earphones which seem to be quite fitting, until they actually try it with music that they don't really listen much to. Like bebop or classical. That's when the difference really shows for them. But if the music that you love do not seem to require that kind of details, the lack of forward mids, then really, do NOT go for the JH13.

I bought my Shure SE530's in June of 2008 and never looked back at purchasing another earphone since I thought the sound was the best that can come from an earphones and then I stumbled across this website and found this. Where do they sell these earphones at though? Also $1,095 is a lot of money. Does any stores have these?

Also I'm currently in college for sound engineering...
you can send your ear mpressions to jerry's factory straight. the address is in the jhaudio website. dunno where you live so cant suggest shops to you.

BTW, I am using it for my final year in audio signal processing in university.
