Your decision is much easier since you don't have either . If the JH had been around when us ES3Xer's were looking, what do you think we'd have? All you need to think about is cost. Either one will be an excellent choice. However, here's an idea--the ES3X are already about $400 less, which means you could get a really good portable amp "to go." Hmmm.... (You might already have something based on looking at your posts.)

Also, remember we gotta buy some music--and ultimately we'd better spend more on our music than our music systems. Else, we all might want to reconsider what our hobby is all about!

More like $300 less, really. As far as I know only a couple of people got the ES3X for about $700, but those were very specific cases, ie not for most. However, most people can now get the ES3X (with the heat-sensitive tips) for $800 (http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net...-monitors.html), same price as the JH10X3.

I have thought about that. I do need a portable amp badly. That's why I have thought seriously about the ES3X. BTW I have more than enough music. I actually have close to 100GB atm with a load more on the way. I know I'll be happy either way

No matter which IEM you choose, make sure your media is lossless. These IEMs are very high resolution and deserve the best (and so do you)!

All my media is lossless. I wouldn't have it any other way. I have some songs that are 350mb and up.

Forgive me if this reads like a mini-rant, but 'aural sex' is just one of the most awful hooklines I've ever seen...sounds real cheap compared to the apparent quality of the product. Designed to appeal to teenies and very young men? More Skullcandy than premier custom IEM, IMHO.

Apologies for the intrusion...just bugs me every time I read that godawful phrase, lol.

JH13 --> $1,100
ES3X --> $850 (official price), but can be had for $800 (see link above)
