Um... they are comparable in one very important, very critical respect... one is 4-digit price range, the other is 5-digits.

They serve different purposes?? Oh, right, one you listen with your ears, the other with your butt cheeks.

haha Joking aside, we're not really trying to compare them per se. We're more interested in how much one is enjoyed, versus the other. Also, let's be honest - if the Orpheus were any bit more expensive while retaining the same level of quality, then many of us would probably have less of a respect for it. It's like those multi-million-dollar diamond necklaces you hear about... they don't look any more attractive aesthetically than some other necklaces, just more glamorous, while only stupid people will stare at the TV screen going "Oooooh" and "ahhhhh" and become envious of the dumb celebs wearing them.

I'm still waiting for someone to find a flaw in the sound

I travel abroad for extended periods at times. Before I go again I will have a second set of these just for a back up.

So has anyone managed to get their JH13's reterminated and balanced? How much of a sound improvement is there, if any?

There is a flaw. Apparently, once these guys put those little things into their ears they're stuck! They can't pull them out, and they're forced to spend all day listening. How much bigger can a flaw be??

Yeah, I'm waiting for this answer also. I would love to know how these might sound with my headroom BUDA and UDAC combo. It might be quite special!

I've read that the benefit of 'balancing' is only from inefficient phones. From very highly efficient ones, like the IEM's, there should be little to none.

From what I read, anyway.

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering, myself, how balancing is supposed to work better than a non-balanced setup. Isn't there something about cross-talk that "balancing" is supposed to resolve? I'm too lazy to research... especially when no one (or at least no one that I've seen) has ever balanced a pair of IEMs to talk about it.

While balancing will have a small effect on a iem most likely one benefit of having a active ground is knocking down hiss so it may help on that front if you have hiss on them which I don't.

There can be even better control of the armature. Balanced was started for the long runs in recording studios as a rejection mode. For headphones etc, there is a driver control that can make a real difference and I don't think efficiency will be a determining factor. There is also the dual aspect of the balanced amp that can contribute to better sound.

I am listening right now with the OEM amp and have Peter Tosh "Equal Rights" spinning and the sound is spectacular.

Thanks for the input, but could you please elaborate or rephrase that in a way that is not so esoteric? What's a driver control? What dual aspect? Rejection mode???

My JH13Pro now fit great, look great, and of course sound great. Now I can get working on finishing my 3-way review since I have a proper fit and everything!

I mean how many places would people be putting up images of their ears? We are a strange lot. Nice IEM's! LOL

So when did you get them back? They didn't fit correctly? Remember to give the 500 hour burn in before you review.

All I do is sit here like a toad and listen while I see Amy's mouth moving but I can't hear the words. Then I see her beating on the wall and finally feeling the vibrations of walls I slowly break from my trance and acknowledge her presence, for the moment, and then return to my dazed state.
