Trust me, there is nothing crazy about him liking the JH13 over the HD800. Edwood will vouch for this as well, since he bought, and subsequently returned the HD800.

Since the JH13 arrived, I have listened to my L3000 several times, and its' prognosis is not looking good.

Sooner or later, people are going to have to accept that the JH13 plays on a level amongst the very highest quality headphones.

Some of you guys are unbelievable.

Read slow and carefully. Don't miss-read anything, I beg you. Blutarsky is NOT a fanboy of anything. He is open to enjoying any kind of headphone or speaker rig, and he posted his thoughts only because we both are able to wear the others custom IEM, and our ES3X sound similar when we wear the others. Yes, with some difficulty we can share customs. My ear canals are larger than his, and my concha (or area where the IEM body sits, whatever we call it) is wider than his, though mine and his are about the same height. While the ear canal portion of his IEM do not seal well in my larger canals, the body of his customs causes a seal at the ear canal opening and good isolation.

He made it clear that this was just a personal for fun comparison, that it was his opinion, and that you should take it with a grain of salt. TOO MANY PEOPLE READ INTO POSTS WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE, and that sucks. He wasn't sure he wanted to post it and I encouraged him to say what he heard, and now I feel bad that I fed him to the lions. Now, that being said, I also posted that I didn't agree about the mids on the JH13 Pro which I think are still immersive and involving if you spend time with them - but he ADMITTED he didn't spend enough time with them. GIVE HIM A BREAK!

He's been a valuable contributor to head-fi when he has the time to post, and I think he doesn't get time to share his thoughts enough, but some of you you guys remind me why some of the best head-fi'ers decide not to participate sometimes.

Whoa guys, I heard I should come over here and read the stir I caused. Please remember I properly caveated my "impressions". I did not write a "review".

I had a very limited window to listen to HPAs JH13 Pros which I admitted. Although I (and certainly HPA in his utility belt) have other/ better sources, its what I'd listened to the UE11 Pros / ES3X on - for consistency I thought introducing yet another variable wasn't worth confounding the "impressions".

Also I did demo the UE11 Pro and JH13 Pro at canjam and because I got such a crummy fit I didn't think it would be right/valid for me to comment.

Further, I think I also mention preference and bias. I admit bias, in any subjective observation the observer brings bias to the table.

Lastly, I stated my "impressions" were my opinion, like other limited impressions folks make at any meet or otherwise.

I thought it may help folks who are wondering what they are missing / hoping to achieve or match to their preference on these IEMS. I know for example, when Zanth says he like x over y, I generally get a similar result. Not that I will ever carry that kind of HF clout - everybody starts somewhere.

Besides I heard all three (as best as my wallet can afford) and many of you have not *sticks out tongue*.

Seriously, have fun with what you love - that's the point isn't it?

I own the ES3X and have no doubt whatsoever the JH13 are as good if not better, and you know what? it is the way it should be (I hope), with better and better products coming up as time goes by. It does not matter to me a bit if the JH13 are better because I am happy with what I have, and I hope that if anybody calls my ES3X names (my Daddy is bigger than yours), I wont get all upset about it.
Nevertheless, this has been one of the most interesting threads in a while, seeing people get all rattled when the size of their.......IEM's is questioned. Now, seriously, it is a great thread.

My first posts on the 13's were that good. I wasn't happy with the sound for the money spent and felt they sounded nothing like what had been described. For the first 2 days I thought I may have made a 1000+ dollar blunder. Not now (do I think it was a blunder/waste of money) but I was not bowled over at first and will only report what I hear, good or bad.

So how bad is it?

I am still thrilled with my ER-6i that I bought for $72 on newegg 2 years ago. Great bang for buck. Not the best out there but very good price: performance ratio

I cleaned up my post as it wasn't clear what I was trying to say.

Frankly if the ES3X are just as good then great. I would like to know how they are the same and or different. It might be worth it to have both just for a change in sound.

Jamato mentioned a 'Keyed' plug. Is this what he was trying to mean? i know the UE11 has a recessed plug, but Keyed plug?

Granted, probably less than ideal (as was stated) way to review customs; however, aren't all reviews "subjective"?

The plug is supposed to have a v notch so there is a V in the slot on the UE and a regular plug will not insert but one with the v will. The v notched plug will work on Westone and JH but not the other way around.
