I am very much interested in Crystal Cable for JH-13.

I wouldn't call stock JH13's tainted, un-sharp, scarred, and unclean.

I am listening to the new Mars Volta (Octahedron) with my JH13s and honnestly I think that I have an "eargasm". These headphones are so musical, I now understand why Jerry said that we will call it "aural sex".

Even Jerry Harvey said himself that the Crystal Cables make it sound incredulous. - Sorry this is a false claim, a mistake made by me.

Yes it's Piccolino. It's the prototype I'm holding on to.

And yes Edwood, I would agree with you.... It's far from. Everything else is blindness compared to JH13 Pro stock. But the Crystal Piccolino Cables are a different ballgame altogether. Especially when such a length of cable comes into play.

Does anyone know of any other replacement cables that might be worth looking into? The Crystal cable looks great, but they are really pricey!

That one I know for sure. Because these are already pretty much "UE Custom Cables" level.

For me the moment I heard the crystal cables it's impossible to go back. >_<

Is the Null compatible with customs though? On their site, they only say it's compatible with the UE universals.

The JH13 entry point is pretty much exactly the same.

The crystal cable Im' using now was meant for the UE11... Which the custom cables are attached to, which can be attached to the universals.

So it's pretty much the same.

I got the prototype version, which is more of a sneak peak. Safe estimate would be mid 1k-ish Singapore dollars, which would add up to about 700-800 USD? At least that's what I'm speculating. Not quite sure myself.

But the sound is phenomenal.

...now, what was I going to say? Oh right, I HIGHLY doubt that someone as knowledgeable and with as good an ear as Jerry would ship a flagship product with a cable that supposedly holds it back so much.

And as to the claim that "Even Jerry Harvey said himself that the Crystal Cables make it sound incredulous", I'd absolutely have to hear that straight from him to have any chance of believing it.

I've yet to have an experience that confirms the supposed "wisdom" in paying those kind of amounts for some wire and a couple of connectors. And I SEVERLY doubt that this particular one is any different from all the rest.

At any rate, make a separate thread, maybe in the cable forum, if you wish to keep shilling these cables. Then the rest of us can enjoy discussing the JH-13, a product actually worth $1k, in peace.

I can't beleive that some people are already talking about replacing the cable of the JH13s. Just enjoy the music and get a life !

I was starting to wonder if I should bother ordering something that is not as good as it could be. Anyhow, my lust for these is so bad I had to pull the trigger. Sent Brittany an e-mail about 30 mins back and have booked the Audiologist for the impressions (next Wednesday).

I don't want to get too off topic, but there seem to be a lot of people in this thread looking to source their new JH13s.

The thing that most disappoints me about the 3Gs headphone jack is the noise floor. It's about the same as that from my gen 5.5 ipod, which is to say that it's loud enough to be very distracting. On the other hand, I remember plugging in to an iPod classic in the Apple store and being pleasantly surprised by how quite it was.

I believe however, that the JH13s are a bit less efficient than the UE10s I made my comparisons with. That's something I very much welcome. If so, noise floors would be less a problem.

The only reason why I even tried was because I didn't believe it at first myself.

As again this is a JH13 appreciation thread and I just shared what improvements I've had with it with a change in cables. I know there are plenty of people who believe that interconnects and cables are mainly hoaxes.

I didn't believe in changing the cables for myself because I was already enjoying the JH13 stock cables and all myself. I refused to change cables on my Tri Fis for a really long time other than possibly UE Custom Cables.

I had tried this crystal cables with as much skepticism as anyone else that I would like it (because of previous experience with crystal cables). Immediate shock of my life came about when I actually heard it.

I understand that you find that hard to believe for yourself. You won't know till you try it. I for one did for the first time and got blown away.

About what I said, you could ask the man himself. And no, the cable which came with JH13 Pro is ultra high quality and is very good on its own. Well above most other stock cables.

I am an avid musician myself and I am seriously saying that this is really beyond my expectations and belief. I for one, didn't believe in it and was looking for a good reason to refute it by giving it a try. Unlike others who refute it on basis of their own logic.

Don't take my word for it. Go ask around. Just because I'm new to the community, seem to be talking about things which are controversial, doesn't mean that I'm spouting nonsense.

And yes I was about to start another thread to talk about it if you may please. To not flood this appreciation thread which is not too related and because I will be a lot more detailed on it. I will say specific differences and I hope that if anyone can get their hands on it to try, to see if it matches.

If not, you can believe I'm spouting rubbish. Or if what I say is true, at least you have tried something new.
