Well, I've read rumors that Sennheiser is working on next coming model, but they

sennheiser usual dont replace their flagships for years the HD600 is going on 16-17 years I believe. I think the hD800 will be around for a bunch of years also.

It's also possible that they messed up a little and didn't intend to discount the HD800. I doubt Sennheiser with their price-fixing are very happy with them about it.

sorry I would told you if I knew. I told Bourneperect and others, i thought it was common knowledge, I paid 1100.00 new from another dealer here in the US and he is authorized. PM me if you need his name.

Yes and thanks for that Frank. I actually ordered an HD800 on 2 occaisions from Jan-one for $1140 shipped and one for $1105.

That $1299 was the best advertised price I can remember in a while

Got mine for $1100 about 3 years ago brand new from B&H.

X2. Ordered mine from Jan, was like $1080 at the time. 

I doubt they're going to release a new headphone soon, the MSRP went up from €1000 to €1200 (at least in Europe), I'm really happy I got it for €900 by "talking" a bit in a authorized store. I don't have the FR graph and I have 2 years of warranty instead of 4 because I didn't buy it from retail price. But I don't really mind, I can say that I got a 25% discount if you look at the current price, and I was thinking that the 10% discount was already something.

EDIT: I should've said that the dealer is in fact authorized and that it was brand-new.

I have got it for 870 euros from an italien seller in ebay.
