How can I obtain a Sony x1000 from U.K.?

I live in U.S.
I tried to order the x-1000 and the online stores from U.K. but some stores won't ship it to the U.S.
Why? My money is good.
How can people from the U.S. get their hands on one of these? Any U.K. stores that will ship to U.S.?

Some like ihatepopupads get them via fellow head-fi'ers in the UK. I myself bought and sent one to another head-fi'er when it was first released.

Anyway, AMP3 has them in stock now and they do ship to the US.

they are too expensive, I would rather get it from amazon or play.com.
Why do these sites refuse to ship to U.S.?

Because certain regions have either exclusive features, companies like Sony restrict export since other countries will have it and want it to be purchased there, the EU has trading rules, etc. It makes perfect business sense. Then take into account the different plugs around the world, etc.

For 9.9/10 people, getting their localized version is the way to go.
