Hi All!

First Post!

I'm currently in the market for some new headphones and after doing a whole bunch of searching through Head-Fi and google I'm 60% sure I want a pair of AKG's. The problem is the pair that suits my needs and price range is the K 172 HD and I just can't find any decent information about them.

Has anyone tried these? Can anyone link me to a decent review or frequency response graph? Is there anything I should know, consider or research before commiting to them?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

The K-240MKll and the K701/2 are great, and you can find them used on FS forum.
BTW, I'm not so crazy about the K-171

Yeah I'm after closed because I'll be using them while commuting (walking, bus). What is the difference between the K271mkII and the K272? Only problem with the 271mkII and the K272 is that the price is a bit over what I'd like to spend.

Not necessarily, only problem is I'm in New Zealand. Where is this pair for $90?

Another thing is how do on-ear AKGs feel for someone who wears glasses?

If these are used solely for commuting, I wouldn't advise the K271s. They're rather big and unless it's on your head you can't wear it (it clamps against your jaws when you wear them around the neck in case you have a conversation etc. which is rather uncompfortable) I haven't heard the K171s but I've seen them and they're a good deal smaller, much better for commuting IMO.

BUMP!

 I got the DT1250's but I don't know if I can justify the $300 on them. I really like the K271's but I want them for portable use as I have the K500's for home use.  Anyone have reviews on the K172's?
