Harx-700 or Harx-900, that is the question.

Hi guys.
I'm looking to buy headphones mainly for gaming, listen to music casually and watching movies at home.
(My brother is buying another TV for the basement, so if he's using it, I'll be using the headphones when I'm doing what I'm doing)
I've decided that the JVC HARX model line is the one I want to go with.
The question is if I should get the 700 or 900.
I'm pretty strapped for cash right now.
The 700 is $41.99USD, and the 900 is $69.99USD, both with free shipping.
Now I'm leaning towards the 700 because of how cheap it is.
But I'm willing to get the 900 if its quality is leaps and bounds above the 700.
If anyone can give me any input, I'd greatly appreciate it.

p.s. if anyone have suggestions on another pair of headphones I'd like to hear em. I just want them to be closed and ~$50USD

I have the Ha RX700 and have never heard the Harx 900. For your requirements though I'd be more impelled to recommend the Rx900. It is noted to have a much bigger soundstage than the RX700 which should be a more positive attribute for Games and Movies. If I were you I'd wait for a few more suggestions from folks who have both.

i have had the 700, 900, hadx1, hag700. i liked the 900 least out of all of them. i still have the hadx1 (next higher model than harx900)
i fell the 900 has great bass but mediocre at best highs and mids. the 700 has a much more forward sound, bass is more prominent in the mid bass area than the 900. i was severely disappointed in the harx900 to be honest.

I would suggest adding more underlining to really emphasize your main ideas. This will tell us the important parts of your post to especially read with extra attention.

I never expected to find a troll on Head-Fi

You haven't looked hard enough.

I count 5 more (constant trolls) off the top of my head. I won't name them. Lingling1337 isn't one of them despite his Rick Astley sig.
Underlining too many words is slightly annoying though.

Man there are trolls everywhere. Just to help you out, I'll post my blocked list, as most of those people troll enough for me to take the time and block them.

i*****t, k*-***m, l***y, m*****g. (Names censored now. Sorry to anyone who wanted a ignore list.)

I was gonna post a nice description on why each one was blocked, but I decided not to, as they would come over here and complain about it. Good thing I have them blocked eh?

Anyway, I've read of a lot of people preferring the 700 over the 900, and I don't think I've heard many people say they preferred the 900 over the 700.

But, all of this is just from reading. I haven't tried either of them...yet.

I succumbed to an impulse buy and ordered both. I'm thinking I may like the RX900 over the 700 based on everything I've read, but we'll see. You may be seeing one or both of them in the FS forum soon.

Oh...and trolls on Head-Fi....yeah, there's a lot more than there used to be.

******g isn't so bad, and was pretty nice before this month (compared to the others on your list, at least). He/she might be going through some things.

But even listing the first and last letters is just asking for a flame war. I'm putting my flame suit on.

What cool face?

I just noticed ******g can also be something else...

/of off topic.

InfiniteZr0, are they in stock or backorder for 1 to 2 months?

My vote goes to RX700, but I haven't tried RX900 tho. Tried to buy one, but buy.com cancelled my order because they were out of stock. I ended up with 2 pair of RX700

My vote is on the 700s as well, I have 2000+ hours of mine and I literally only stopped listening to them because I was absurdly rough with them and the finally broke, which was a challenge in itself. Fantastic sound, and only shares the throne with the superlux 668s for the under $50 category. I would like to hear some more about the rest of the lineup, particularly past the 900s, anyone got any input?
