Any D10 users with a pair of ViaBlue plugs out there?

So I am about to buy a pair of ViaBlue mini plugs to make a headphone cable and an LOD cable with. The only problem is I'm not sure the D10 has the space to have 2 ViaBlue plugs in? Can someone please quickly check this?

Why not measure? You should be able to get the size from the specs for the ViaBlue, then measure between the jacks. If the distance, center to center, is > 1 diameter for the plug, you're golden.

My D10 is in the mail. So wont be able to try that out till it arrives. Although if anyone could measure the centres that would be a great help. Would be nice to hear that someone has actually done it tho.

dont do it, the input/output jacks on the D10 are not large enough for what is actually a decievingly badly designed connector; I reterminated my piccolino LOD with a viablue a few weeks ago and when I tried it in the D10 it was q bit stiff inserting it into the line-in jack; it went in, but was tight as; when I went to remove it however the ring around the jack came out with it now I have to RMA my D10; the viablue isnt as tight as this in anything else I have, but it is still tighter than needed and tighter than it should be; I tested with the other 8 viablues I have and all are the same. so I think its a combination of the viablue being a bit larger than it should be and the D10 jacks being a touch smaller than they should be. the viablues are seemingly well designed connectors, but they are too tight in everything IMO and I think even if they fitted they would damage jacks in time just by making them loose. pity because I liked them, but I am hesitant to use them with anything else now too. my recommendation is to stay away from viablue with D10.

To be fair, I have sold hundreds of these, and I have had only two people who have reported a problem with the plugs not fitting, both of whom owned iBasso products. I have tried the plugs with everything else I have around here that has a mini-jack and the only problem I ran into was that a few of them are too large to fit in my personal iBasso D3 Python.

So, with this in mind, I am going to say that they are just not a good match with the iBasso, due to, perhaps, their use of a non-standard 3.5mm input and output connector.

I also reported the "problem" to Viablue, who check their stock and they were unable to duplicate the problem, although it is unlikely they tried the plug with an iBasso.

So, I think to say that it is a "deceivingly badly designed connector" is a little much. A careful, practiced, hand is needed to solder them, however, they are a good alternative to the others on the market.

Disclaimer--I do offer Viablue's for sale, so keep that in mind.

Interesting... well that seems to be a real shame!

I love the ViaBlue plugs too! Ahhh I dont know what to do...

Contact Craig at Whiplash Audio, he has a D10 and some Viablue's, maybe he can sell you a couple that he tests on his D10 for fit.

fair enough comment; I thought about this post afterwards and meant to clarify; but been run off my feet. my main point is I do not recommend it with ibasso. which is why I posted in here in the first place. because using a viablue on my D10 DID cost me return shipping to ibasso from aus and a damaged amp. so perhaps the sweeping statement was ill advised. guess i'm still a little pissed. it is a culmaive problem in that I think both manufacturers have gone a bit close to the edge. the connectors themselves are very well built; didnt really find much trouble soldering them (although some may) and the strain relief is excellent. so I was disappointed to find this problem; so if you have a device it works well with they are definitely a good choice. I do feel they could have made them a bit smaller either way though. switchcraft are even too tight in some sockets over time, so to make them a bit bigger; well I dunno about that choice.

I've found the switchcraft mini a tight fit in my Pico, as well.

Okay so I haves checked and can confirm that the viablue connectors are NOT a good fit! I don't reccomend that pairing.

So now I need to find another high quality, attractive connected with a wide cable opening. Any suggestions?
