Tripp Lite - PDUMH20ATNET Questions

I walked into my bosses office on Friday and he had two big Tripp Lite boxes in his office. I asked him what they were and he said they were power units for the computer system but that we weren't going to use it. I looked closer and he said, "it's like a fancy power strip." Indeed it had 16 outlets.

He asked if I wanted it and I said sure!

So I get this home and I'm finally able to play around with it this evening and I realize that I can't use the thing, at least not right out of the box. It does not plug directly into a standard three pronged plug. It's quite possible that

The model is the one in the title. I figure this is the key piece of information if I only knew what it meant:

-20A 120V capacity with 16 NEMA 5-15/20R outlets
-Connects to NEMA 5-20R and locking L5-20R receptacle

From what I've been able to learn the unit is terminated with a plug that looks like this:

Called a L5-20P

Obviously that can't go into a standard wall socket. However, when I first looked in the bag there appeared to be two adapters (yes two, you can have two power sources with this bad boy), but when I tried to use them they turned out to be what I think are called 5-20P:

But as you can see that still cannot be used in a standard wall outlet.

So my questions are:

is there an adapter that will convert either of these plug types to a standard wall outlet.

Besides having 16 outlets, is this thing worth using provided I can get it to work in my house?

Actually, combine that with the fact that it accepts dual power supplies, has very beefy cables, and a digital amperage meter on the front, this thing looks pretty sweet. (Not to mention it can be networked and monitored remotely but I don't see how I'll ever need that.) I'm hoping I can use it.

It looks like there are adaptors that will go from l5-20P to NEMA 5-15P. This unit should do the trick:

BuyPowerGear.com: Marinco 82A NEMA 5-15P to NEMA L5-20R (Locking) Adapter - Our Item #: 3432, Category: Components & Adapters

Can anyone confirm this is indeed what I need and perhaps a suggestion on a better place to buy it.

This looks like a cheaper alternative but I can't really be sure it's the right thing from the adapter.

you can rig it up - I dont think it will do much but have fun - I have cut ends off UPSs before to drop into lower AMP sockets. Just dont exceed your lesser socket (15a vs 20a)
