2 channel mix down from 5.1

I just got a new Sony DVD player (SR200 P Model) for my bedroom and it's just a $49 DVD player but I really like it alot and since I only listen to stereo speakers in the bedroom for the movies. I have been using the 2 channel mix down setting in the DVD player for movies that only have the 5.1 option on the disc. I like the sound thus enjoying the movies sonically.

Anyone else use a 2 channel mix down on their DVD players for movies? If so, which DVD player are you using?

You should choose the LPCM mix, or Pro-Logic soundtrack, if it has them. Also if you use the stereo RCA outputs, it's always downmixed.

I sometimes use the downmix feature, if a old film has been expanded to 5.1 it may not be a great mix. I use the dowmix on the processor side not DVD player though.
